Osteria La Segreta, a delightful restaurant conveniently located in Rome. Our experience was nothing short of exceptional.
To kick off the evening, I started with a classic dry martini, expertly crafted and the perfect way to set the tone for the meal. For the appetizers, I indulged in a plate of mozzarella paired with 30-month-aged prosciutto. The combination of creamy mozzarella and the perfectly balanced olive oil. Next up was the fried calamari, which I must say was among the best I've ever had. The light and crispy batter encasing the tender squid was a testament to the chef's skill. And then there were Rome's best meatballs in tomato sauce, a true highlight of the meal. The meatballs were tender, flavorful, and bathed in a rich, savory tomato sauce that was simply irresistible. The atmosphere at Osteria La Segreta was warm and inviting, and the attentive staff contributed to the overall enjoyable dining experience.
In conclusion, Osteria La Segreta is a must-visit for anyone in Rome looking for an unforgettable dining experience. The exceptional food, including the mozzarella, fried calamari, and remarkable meatballs, will have you coming back for more. I can't wait to return and savor the cuisine and the wonderful...
Read moreAvoid this place. Our tour guide recommended this place but it must have changed ownership because he recommended Babette down the street and it was fantastic. The place looks amazing but don’t be deceived, the food was terrible. Something was off with the service at first as she couldn’t explain how much to order as everything was small plate. Regardless, we ordered a couple plates to try. We ordered a garlic basil spaghetti dish with peppers thinking it would be spicy. It came undercooked and it had a single small dry uncooked pepper on top as a garnish. We asked why the spaghetti itself wasn’t spicy and instead of explaining they brought us a side of chili oil. I asked how we were supposed to share it and she said we should have cut up the small pepper and mixed it in the dish. We ordered a bruschetta with prawns and it was very sub par and I suspect it was frozen shrimp. We asked to return the dish and they refused, saying that we had tasted too much (I’ve never returned a dish in my life.) Our bill was $96 for two small plates, two glasses of house red and a bottle of water. Ridiculous menu, bad service, hopefully won’t be around for much longer. Go to Babette...
