What a wonderful experience for us to stay at The Manfredi. We arrived very tired and bleary from traveling from California to Rome with very little sleep. We were greeted warmly and comfortingly by Rino, who showed us to our room and who informed us of all the amenities including the wonderful lounge and breakfast room. This first contact with the staff was to be indicative of the great service we were to have during our four day stay and our wonderful Roman experience. The room, the food, the wine, the service were outstanding but it was also the neighborhood that fascinated us. Alessandro at the hotel provided us with fascinating information about the history and culture of the Via Margutta - where great films were made and great directors and authors such as Frederico Felinni and Truman Capote resided not far away from the Manfredi. We chose this hotel for its close proximity to Trevi Fountain and The Spanish Steps and we found so much more in this area. The Via Margutta is where shoppers and diners can congregate and and stroll and romance together. To us this hotel and this area will always be our memory of Rome. We caught up on our sleep and we toured Rome with passion for the next few days and our great room and comfortable bed were there waiting for us every time we returned. We slept like puppies as the room was so well insulated from the outside noise. The staff treated us like friends and gave us hints as to the best places to dine and where and the best times to visits the famous sites. Rome is huge city and can be overwhelming but residing at the Manfredi on the Via Margutta gave us a small, charming, friendly neighborhood in which to remember this...
Read moreIt's not often you stay in a hotel where you can find little fault. We loved our time in Hotel Manfredi.
The hotel is based on the the third floor of the building with circular steps leading up to the reception. There is also a quaint old lift for those with mobility issues. The management staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommadating with a good grasp of the English language for those of us with little knowledge of Italian.
The room was very intalienesce as pictured on the website and was spotlessly clean. Not too big, but then big enough with adequate wardrobe space. Beds were very comfortable and unsuite bathroom was again spotless and spacious. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed when requested.
Breakfast was buffet style with a mixture of English/Continental providing a good choice of freshly cooked scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals, pastries, ham, etc. Breakfast staff were particularly lovely providing numerous offerings of fresh coffee or Cappuccino.
Location was excellent just 200mtrs from the Spanish steps and with loads of nice Restaraunts close by. La Spagna Metro was also close by, but we preferred to explore the sights by walking as most of the main sights, Colleseum, Vatican, Trevi Fountain were within a half hour walk.
Altogether a lovely holiday and I would have no problem recommending this...
Read moreHotel Manfredi Suites was our home over the holidays this past Christmas. Located in the heart of the city and a breath away from the Spanish Steps, we couldn't have made a better decision for our first visit to Rome! The building itself is several hundred years old and historic (like most of the city) but the hotel emerges from within it as a great sanctuary with all the comforts and amenities we have come to expect from modern accommodations. Located on the 3rd and 4th floors (after an optional caged elevator ride!), each room is beautifully decorated and uniquely adorned. Our girls had a cosy corner room to themselves while we happened to be close by but both rooms boasted large beds, modern bathrooms, and in our case - a specialty shower/spa with 16 multi-head shower settings! Breakfast was elegant and the service at the front desk was impeccable. I can't thank the hotel staff enough for the dinner recommendations we received and for arranging champagne and chocolates for my wife and I on our 25th anniversary! For a location so close to one of the heaviest tourist areas in Rome, the street the hotel is on is remarkably quiet and peaceful with minimal foot traffic even during the day. Great restaurants and shopping nearby with all major attractions easily walkable. All-in-all a very pleasant and relaxing experience and highly...
