Not sure how the positive reviews about this place came in considering the very very disappointing experience here - certainly the worst during our stay in Roma and in summary a rip off. Headed there for a quick diner as were checking the movie theater nearby. Ordered a steak for 10 euros - which did not included any side dishes. Understood after, these had to be added and payed separately. Very very thin piece of meat as a result. We were charged additionally "coperto" / 2 euro per person, supposedly for the "bread basket" which included solely 2 thin 3 cm long pieces of bread - charging of which of course the owner did not mention before hand. Regretted too late not taking a pic considering the absolutely minuscule quantity. Although i can understand the idea of charging, the concept of bread basket would be actually to place some bread in it!! Similarly, the chocolate mousse for desert would barely have fit 2 coffee spoons (small ones) What a freaking rip off!!! Left hungry and angry. Not used to give bad reviews - prefer spending the time providing good reviews but fell the need to avoid other travelers the same experience with this place. No wonder it was practically empty despite all the movie goers. Maybe we have been unlucky - owner was indeed very courteous as some other reviews pointed out - but certainly cannot and will not recommend. On the plus side the ratio price / minimal quantity of food provided certainty helps if you...
Read moreWe had dinner at La Locanda, our Airbnb host recommended us to go there, and the food was amazing! We really recommend you trying it, it is homemade food, grandpa/grandma style. If you’re looking for authentic local food this is the place to go!
We shared a mushroom pasta, and a steak (like steak au poivre!) the meat was juicy and tender and the sauce really good! The pasta was delicious and at the same time light.
We also ordered a green salad and a warm pecorino cheese with honey and nuts, and wine!
The restaurant is runned by the owner, who’s welcoming and lovely.
100% recommend going here, even if the decoration is a bit outdated, it gives the...
