First off, we arrived at our reserved time and it seemed that the waiter didn’t know we were arriving. They ended up seating us at the back of a near empty restaurant by the staircase.

The service was lackluster and sporadic at best. The bread basket was dropped off unceremoniously with no plates, butter or the usual oil/vinegar. When we asked for it, a giant bottle of oil was dropped off without the corresponding vinegar.

Following the appetizer, the cutlery was removed to be replaced with clean ones. For whatever reason, the waiter set one of the new ones up at an empty spot on the table leaving one of the guests to grab it themselves. Or a big deal but to be clear, they didn’t drop off multiple sets to be distributed, it was placed down in front of two of the guests and then the third one at an empty spot. The third guest was left scratching her head. It was bizarre. Like the waiter was distracted or simpler didn’t care.

I agree with a previous review indicating the pasta to be undercooked. Argument could be made that this is the what they consider to be “Al Dente”. Perhaps the pasta would be cooked to an the desired consistency if made with fresh pasta, however the density makes me question whether this is the case. The core of the pasta was akin to what you would have with undercooked dried pasta. Frankly, I’ve had my share of pasta at many restaurants and feel like I know what al dente is and this was most certainly not. Regardless, the spaghetti with clams that I ordered were extremely over-salted. The best dish of the night were the grilled mushrooms that were featured as a daily special. Overall, underwhelming experience and certainly won’t...

Had a nice dinner here though my expectations were very high as the restaurant has excellent reviews, unfortunately I was a little let down. Actually it was rather nice to travel outside the city center, Cesare is extremely close to the final stop of the 8 tram and you get to see much more of the city and where people live coming here. Dinner started with a very nice basket of bread and we shared the eggplant croquettes and calamari fritti. The croquettes were interesting, with a nice spicy tomato sauce offset with mint. The calamari were outstanding, extremely well done. For our mains, I had the gnocchi with oxtail sugo which was really disappointing. The sauce was deep and delicious, and the gnocchi very well made however totally under salted. I wonder if they are used to salting this dish with pasta water when the rigatoni is selected? I needed to add cheese AND salt just to coax some flavor. I do like salty, though. My companions had Amitriciana and Gricia. Both were very good however an alarming amount of guanciale was used in the gricia and my companion said that is was too much and the balance of the dish was off because of it. We were a bit put off by the waiters constantly trying to remove our dishes. Like, fork still in hand and BOOM can I take your plate now? Then you have to wait 15 minutes for the bill haha. Well no one is perfect for sure. Overall it was a good experience and I’m happy we went and wish them many...

First of all, yes you need a reservation. Yes if you don’t have one you will see empty tables. If you don’t understand that, you don’t work in the restaurant industry. You work in finance bro, relax and get your shit together and make a freaking reservation. Disgrace to post a 1 star review over you forgetting to make a reservation.

Service was not slow at all, it was well paced and a normal Italy length meal.

The food was amazing, you should refer to locals for what to order! We did that and were told to get fried gnocchi cacio e Pepe, eggplant croquets, pizza rossa, grica (with tonnarelli), oxtail (with rigatoni), fegatelli, fried baby octopus, and dessert.

Service was great, super easy for English speakers we even had to call to tell them we would be ten minutes late and no issues at all communicating. If you are kind to people they will be kind to you. A lot of the 1 star reviews I read on this page seem to be from the worst kind of humans.

The wine list was excellent and the prices were amazing. $110 for 1 bottle of wine, 5 dishes and two dessert wines, beyond cheap!!! Will go back,...
