Confused and disappointed by this historic resturant. The reviews led us to believe this would be a solid choice but we were left very disappointed. The tomatoes for the caprese were not good quality. We sat by the kitchen and the microwave was in constant use warming dishes up. We had parmigana, rabbit cacciatore and sides, first they had missed the rabbit off, then it came just a couple of minutes later, and it was completely cold, with a couple of warm spots so it had very clearly been microwaved. It was sent back and the same plate, in the same arrangement was brought back, hot, so it had clearly been microwaved again. The rabbit was nice enough, the parmigana disappointing and one of our sides didnt come. The chef came out and spoke to us regarding the rabbit but we unfortunately didnt understand, and the waiter was telling the chef to leave it, so it seems like he was upset with us even though we were nothing but polite. The waiters were very curtious and gave good service but it was clear they were understaffed as they were rushing around at speed. Im sure this used to be a very good restuarant but im not aure whats...
Read moreShameful and disgraceful. I went to this place because I thought it was good, old or typical..But it was an awful experience…When I sat down at a table the waiter brought a basket full of different kinds of stale bread sticks (most of them inside different sealed plastic wrappers) and asked me if I wanted still or sparkling water. I said still, thinking that it was free. Straight after he asked.. red wine or white wine? I said no, thank you.. because I thought wine was not going to be free.
Then I ordered just a rigatoni carbonara, (price was around 15 euros). When he gave me the bill I I had to pay more than 21 for all the basket of bread that I didn’t taste at all and for tap water. Furthermore the pasta was hard, there were just a few pieces of guanciale and little and poor sauce, (not at all a 15 euros carbonara). Really far from Italian and Roman average standards. Any place in other neighbourhoods like for instance Trastevere were much much better and...
Read moreTrattoria Perilli is a fantastic dining experience that you absolutely must try when in Rome. The classic Roman cuisine is simply outstanding. You have to order the carbonara—it's served in a massive family-style bowl, perfect for sharing, and was without a doubt the most delicious carbonara we had during our entire trip to Italy. The service was also top-notch. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. To our delight, he surprised us with some complimentary local digestives at the end of our meal, a perfect finishing touch. While Trattoria Perilli is a very popular spot with tourists, it still manages to maintain a wonderful local and family-owned atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you feel like you're getting an authentic Roman experience. Just be sure to make a reservation in advance, as this gem...
