A Sud — Restaurant in Salerno

During our recent visit to Salerno, I had the pleasure of dining at "A Sud", an Italian restaurant that truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped inside, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for what would be an unforgettable culinary experience.

The highlight of our evening was undoubtedly the exceptional service provided by our waiter, Marcelo. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor made us feel right at home. Marcelo's knowledge of the menu was impressive, and his recommendation of a local wine to pair with our meal was absolutely perfect. His expertise added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.

The food at "A Sud" was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic flavors and made with the freshest ingredients. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the seafood was incredibly fresh, reflecting the true essence of Italian coastal cuisine. Each bite was a delight, and it was evident that a lot of care and passion went into the preparation of every dish.

Marcelo's wine recommendation, in particular, was a standout. It complemented our meal beautifully and highlighted the incredible quality of the local wines. His suggestions throughout the evening elevated our experience and made it truly memorable.

I cannot recommend "A Sud" highly enough. The combination of exquisite food, impeccable service, and the warm hospitality provided by Marcelo made for a dining experience that was nothing short of perfect. Without a doubt, this restaurant deserves a solid 10 out of 10, and I will definitely be returning the next time...

Marvelous place. It is like a dream restaurant in a small warm environment with real Italian gentlemen waiters. They speak english perfectly. English menu is available.

When you sit, they directly greet you with an Italian sparkling wine and small apperative.

I tried their local wine and "chicken and potato at wood-fire" also crumble cake

My notes:

Wine is a bit sweet and soft for a dry wine. You can directly get the roasted oak taste and smell with easy drink experience that nicely accompanies meal

Main dish was simple yet delicious and perfectly cooked crispy potatoes (only crispy outside) with 3 pieces of chicken leg (1 boneless) with rosemary. It was quite good. Size of portion especially for this price ok. I would recommend adding a bit thyme and maybe black pepper to table for such dishes

I tried also crumble cake. It wasn't the best for sure. It was quite average.

Portfolio of desserts was a bit low (pannatone, crumble cake with cherries and 1 more I don't remember)

From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with a complimentary drink and delicious, warm dough bites that set the tone for the night. The food was exceptional—each dish carefully crafted and bursting with flavor. The wine selection is also a highlight, with options that pair perfectly with the meal and add just the right touch.

The service was fantastic, with the staff striking the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. They made us feel genuinely welcomed and were attentive throughout our meal without being intrusive.
