You can see in the other reviews as well, this place is the real authentic Salernitano experience! The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, yet genuine and gives you a vibe that you go into someone's own kitchen. Mama Rossa herself is running between the tables, for the 12 tables there are 5 waiters, all kind and friendly, seafood is literally kept by the entrance, so you can see when they are selecting them to go to the kitchen. And what comes out from there is just tasty and great. Nothing fancy, no Michelin level, but it is like your Italian grandma made a feast for you. Check out the place when you're around, you'll love it! Book ahead in peak season, they are usually full then!

My favourite restaurant on my recent trip to Italy! What a lovely little place, with the friendliest and warmest staff, and the most incredible food. The Octopus pasta was one of the best meals I have ever eaten! Would highly recommend the Bruschetta too, it was divine. We first came on a Saturday evening and then had to come back again for Lunch the next Friday as I couldn't leave without tasting the Octopus pasta for a second time. The atmosphere and staff (who were different) were amazing both times. I will have to return some day. Great value for money too, compared to the overpriced and overrated restaurants along the coast that we tried in Amalfi and Positano.

Dinner at Mamma Rosa’s is like walking into a momma’s kitchen but even better. Mamma Rosa took our order and everyone else’s order which was very special. She is an incredible woman! Our waitress Valerie was friendly, helpful and made amazing suggestions as to what was popular and favourites at the restaurant. She was not wrong. We had cod meatballs, Barks alla Mamma Rosa, pasta with crab and shared Babà with cream and black cherry for dessert. The taste and flavours were delicious! We would have loved to tried more food but we were so full. We highly recommend this restaurant if you love home cooking just like momma used to make. Reservations is a must.

believe all the reviews! this is some of the best food you will eat in italy- especially for seafood lovers. the service is warm, friendly whilst still being very authentic. the food is vety very good. i was travelling alone, so over-ordered for 1 person. and i still ate it all. i regret nothing 😂 ! i started with zuppa di cozze (mussels in broth -just amazing) and then ordered the baccala alla marinara. i only wish i had more friends with me so i could order more. definitely make reservations, but in low season, arrive early and you’ll probably get lucky. super recommended

SEMPLICITÀ e soprattutto GUSTO 😋 Location minimal, movimentata dai colori dei tavoli e dalle ceramiche usate per il servizio ed appese alle pareti. A conduzione familiare, il personale ha mostrato il giusto equilibrio tra gentilezza, disponibilità, simpatia ed apertura, man mano che la nostra permanenza si prolungava c’è stata un’attenzione alle nostre richieste, sempre gestita con un sorriso. Abbiamo aperto e chiuso noi le danze, (ben tre ore), in quanto siamo persone buongustaie, che amano restare a tavola. Il primo gruppo a sedersi e l’ultimo ad andarsene! Il menu imposto per Pasquetta ci preoccupava, ma, i piatti scelti avevano tutti un fattore in comune, avevano “sapore”, freschezza della materia prima ed un buon bilanciamento. Io ho fatto la “scarpetta” con tutti i fondi dei vari piatti scelti: deliziosi! Tutto veramente buono. Una piacevole sorpresa. Siamo andati oltre il prezzo fissato per il menu della festa di €40 a persona, in quanto abbiamo voluto assaggiare un primo ed un antipasto extra. Ci sono state cose più apprezzate di altre, (sicuramente da rivedere) ma, il ricordo e la sensazione che resta è quello di un buon pranzo e di un’esperienza da ripetere. Ritorneremo per poter assaggiare altre pietanze ed anche per capire meglio il rapporto prezzo/qualità/quantità in giorni con menu libero. Speriamo mantengano questo standard anche quando, ci raccontavano, ingrandiranno l’attività … e ci sono buone speranze se a supervisionare ci sarà MAMMA ROSA PS - Partiamo da 3 stelle perché si può sempre migliorare, perché IN MEDIO STAT VIRTUS, perché sperando di continuare la frequentazione, avremo modo di rivalutare

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Give this place 10/5 stars.. food was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, simply phenomenal. This is NOT your average food chain restaurant. Mamma Rosa was still working tables, with family recipes being served. Pasta was completely fresh and recently made— no exaggeration probably the best pasta I’ve had in my life 🍝 The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked 🦀🐙🐟 And the food quality and quantity for the price makes this place a no brainer. Cannot recommend enough, and will definitely be back.
