Lovely restaurant with excellent food, make sure you book in advance. On our first night in Salerno we attempted to go to this restaurant but without a booking we would not be seated so we opted to go elsewhere. We then booked for the following day where we had a delightful experience. We started off with a bottle of the house white which was nice but nothing to write home about. We then went for a starter which consisted of bruschetta, when we looked at the menu we were a taken a back by the amount of choice, but this was no bad thing. One thing I would add as a very English tourist who has a very basic knowledge of Italian, that the menu is only in Italian so took some Google Translating. When the starters turned up they were beautifully presented, I opted for the octopus and potato purée which was delightful although the octopus was a little bit overwhelmed by the other flavours from the green beans and the purée. I also tried some of my partners aubergine bruschetta with a parmesan crisp which was also delicious. We then moved onto the past course where I went for the lobster spaghetti, let my say this was a sight to behold. It was immense, half a lobster coupled with a delicious oil based pasta similar to an Aglio e Olio, this was incredible and highly recommended. We also got a Aglio e Olio to share just for good measure and this was also delightful. My partner got the olive, lemon pasta and having tried some and having heard her response whilst eating it I can say it’s definitely one to look out for. Al Dente - Spaghetteria is a lovely place with an open kitchen and good service and I would recommend this to anyone looking for amazing pasta in Salerno.

Very tasty, we got the il sorrento pasta. My only negatives are that you must make a reservation as we arrived and waited 30 mins in queue only for people who did not respect the queue to get in before us and when we asked we were told the next available spot was in another hour. Not really their fault but its something that i feel should be mentioned in reviews as it was extremely dissapointing. We did make a reservation for the next day and the pasta was very very tasty it was fresh and lots of vegetarian choices for us to choose. Personally i felt the il sorrento pasta was too sweet for my liking but my partner really enjoyed it and the mozarella balls within the dish were DIVINE!! it is a nice place but be sure to reserve it beforehand 😌

We were only staying in Salerno one night and arrived early evening. We had nothing booked but found this restaurant online so took a chance… We arrived at the main restaurant where it was rammed with people!! I thought we were out of luck but told there would be only a 5 minute wait… Happy days!! We were then asked if we would eat in the other part of the restaurant over the road, so no worries…. We were sat and waited a while before being served… No problem then order was taken!! Food arrived which was nice and the beer 🍺 was superb! We left though feeling that we were unwelcome.. We weren’t asked if the food was okay or basically had any customer service at all.. Shame as I thought we were on a winner judging by the reviews but hey ho!

3.5 stars would probably be about right. The bruschetta and desert were both very good. The lemon pasta wasn't great (I had lemon pasta at two other restaurants during the holiday and was maybe spoiled as they were excellent). The waiting staff were nice however service was very slow and I never got one of the drinks I ordered. The bill was €70 (2 bruschettas, 2 pastas, one dessert plus two glasses of house wine) and so I handed over €80 cash. As the service hadn't been great I only intended to tip €5. There was a very awkward wait (about 3 minutes) for the cashier to give me my change so in the end I decided not to tip at all. Decent enough but the review score is a bit higher than deserved.

It was one of the best carbonara that I have ever tried since I came to Italy. We tried another pasta that I can’t remember the name but I post it’s photos here and this one was good too. I really liked the restaurant and I definitely go back as soon as I go to Salerno again. We tried some bruschetta also and they were really nice and tasty. I must confess that we were really hungry so I forgot to take picture of bruschetta and carbonara but believe me they were so good and you should try them whenever you go to this restaurant. I also wanna mention this fact that their staff were really friendly and professional and I really appreciate their kindness 😊😍

The atmosphere is good, the food is okay, but the service is the worst you can get. First I got at the restaurant and waited for around 5 minutes to someone come to reception, then a couple behind me just went to the cashier and get theirs table upfront. They then decided to send me to a bar with same name pretending that “I would get service there”, though there was a table still available and I heard the lady whispering that is better to wait for accommodate two persons instead of one… I don’t speak Italian but my Portuguese and Spanish can do a great job… then after 30min I just grab an horrible old croissant as a takeaway.
