It takes a lot for me to give a restaurant a 1 star review. This can be shown thru my previous reviews on my profile.

I can't speak for locals, but for tourists, please avoid this place and do not he fooled by the star rating like I was.

The server greeted me when I entered and did not return for another 50 minutes. I was ready to walk out and was looking at other restaurants until they finally acknowledged me.

They served 2 tables before me who came after me, and they didn't even ask for my order by then. Even another table looked at me confused as I was just being ignored.

Finally, after 50 minutes (I actually timed it because it was such an atrocious service), someone came and asked what I wanted, and I asked them a second time for the wine I had previously ordered.

The carbonara was mediocre at best and did not reflect the true italian food I had tasted throughout the country on my one month long trip.

I did not think I could experience a bad service in Italy since I had been to so many places from Milan all the way the Salerno, but here we are.

The staff knew about my bad experience and didn't even attempt to make it right. You also don't get wine glasses with wine, BTW.

If you are a tourist spending your money in Salerno, go to other restaurants who will be more than happy to give you...

We went for dinner and ordered an appetizer to start, and the carbonara and cacio e pepe. The couple that got there after us ended up ordering the same thing after us but due to a mix up, they got our appetizers first and we were left waiting. Once ours came out, my husband finished his first and the waitress came and took his plate and brought his carbonara before I was even done my starter. I thought that was strange since usually they clear both plates and bring out the next dishes together. I'm not kidding, my husband waited a bit for my food to come and eventually I told him to just eat it before it got cold. He was done his food and they took away his plate before they brought out my plate. Completely ridiculous. When I asked where my food was, they kept saying 2-3 more minutes every time. Our waiter wasn't even making eye contact with me and it was another server who was apologetic. Eventually it came out and it wasn't even good at all. The carbonara was excellent though. To add insult to injury when they brought out the bill, the other waiter said they gave us a discount for the inconvenience... it...

We should have heeded the bad reviews. The food wasn’t terrible, but the service was. We ordered antipasti and primi plates. After eating our starters, they brought my husband’s pasta. No sign of mine. After 5 minutes, we asked where mine was. After 5 more minutes they brought a mini plate of my pasta, with a promise more was coming. After 10 more minutes, my pasta finally came. I turned it away. My husband was finished eating (I didn’t want his to get cold) and I didn’t really want to eat alone.

I get it, mistakes happen. The biggest issue for me was the lack of apology. They were mad that I didn’t want the pasta they forgot to make and waited far too long for and I had to agree to pay for it to get them to leave the table. They screwed up, but I still had to pay. Worst dining experience in 2...

I don’t get the current 4+ Google rating. I’m a stone’s throw from the sea so I ordered fish. The merluzzo (cod) was over cooked by several minutes and not a whole fillet, but leftover pieces and parts. The mixed salad was 90% iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato, scant shaved carrot, and olives. I live in Italy and have yet to see a head of iceberg lettuce outside of Nonna Maria’s; and, Italy has numerous gorgeous, inexpensive lettuce varieties. Yet, Nonna served iceberg. I do give the tomato olive sauce that covered the fish three plus stars. I skipped coffee and desert and bought a pizza while walking back to the hotel.

Consigliato in pieno.

Me and my husband absolutely LOVE this restaurant. It’s authentic delicious Italian food with incredible service and the freshest sea food! We have been here a few times and tried their mussels in tomato sauce, their sea bream fish, mozzarella, prosciutto and melon, and a few other things with wine. Everything tasted fantastic. The location is very scenic, the prices are very good, the service is wonderful, we met the waiter David who was always kind and attentive. Thank you for a wonderful experience and great food!
