Bar Varese Al Corso — Restaurant in Salerno

I sat outside and planned to spend a lot of money on snacks and drinks while my wife explored the area and shopped. The problem was no one working here was interested in providing service to their patrons. You get one initial visit for your order while sitting at an outside table. Both girls we originally interacted with seemed uninterested and annoyed by us. Later, after waiting and waiting with a glass that was empty for some time, I saw one male server smoking at the entrance. He never glanced at the table area. His focus was his cigarette, his phone, and people passing by. About 10 minutes later, I noticed another male server smoking at the cafe entrance. I raised my hand politely to try and get his attention. He mockingly waved back and acted put out by my gesture. I asked him if I needed to go inside if I needed something else. He confirmed and acted annoyed that I would bother him with such a silly question.

Don’t waste your money here. The folks working here are not interested in assisting you. They are rude and uninterested. I believe I interacted with four employees and they were all unnecessarily cold...

VERY FRIENDLY SERVICE ! Saturday, Sept 23rd was our last full day ion our 4 day vacation in Salerno. NEW STUFF ! My wife and I love trying new places and found this espresso bar on Corso Vittorio Emanuele...the huge pedestrian mall which runs through downtown Salerno. It was around 11am and we felt like cappuccinos plus a sweet snack so we popped inside. A friendly guy named Simone behind the counter greeted us in a welcoming manner. We ordered 2 x Double Shot Cappuccinos at the bar and selected a cute looking Chocolate Covered Dessert from their huge pastry selection. A barista named Celeste made our rich tasting double shot cappuccinos....trust me they were rich tasting in their little 8 oz cups which was pretty much the norm in Italy. I went to use the bathroom and there was no toilet paper.....we are in bidet country. Celeste kindly fetched me a roll of toilet paper. The little chocolate dessert tasted fine...nothing exceptional. Simone was telling me they serve dinner in the evenings...I did see the large dining room out the back. A GOOD...

The portions were really small for the price. It definitely didn't taste like italian pasta, instead it tasted like a bland disappointment. I've made better pasta at home. The family that runs the place was busy with their own chatterings so it took them a while to notice us. And when they finally did they were quite rude and arrogant. I'm only giving 2 stars because the food wasn't good but it wasn't disgusting either. All in all a big disappointment and I would definitely...
