We stayed in the Hubertus Villa in mid June - this is a sort of off season period in Ortisei, so we enjoyed the place and the logging a lot as it was calm, nice, warm and very very easy to get around beuitiful area of GArdena.||||The Hubertus Villa is a nice place to stay and have following positive points||1. The location -very central overlooking the city and the mountain car system on the opposite mountain - though it is not easy to find (at least my german car navi could not find it and I had to ask the locals for directions). It is located on the one way street - and if you drive there you need to consider the way to garage is easy to miss (I made the wrong turn and it was difficult to come back from the villa entrance). There is an escalator just a stone through away from the entrance and also there is a escalator to the funiculare behind the Villa - so from logistic point of view the place is ideal!||||2. It is very clear and well organised - there is a garrage and in house elevator - which is nice for traveling with kids, luggage and just ski!!! The room we were in (Neptun) is very big - there is not much inside - bed, small tv with mostly italian and some german channels, wadroab and sofa for watching TV, but you are fine.|| ||3. Owner is friendly - multilingual and very helpful, he lives upstairs with his family - it was a bit of pitty he was away for most of the time and it took me a while to get into the house and his dad was not hearing us coming which costed me ca 10 minutes of nervous waiting and banging to the door!||||4. Terrase is big and nice - you may do the picnic there is the weather is fine, the supermarket (there are two down town - ca 10 minutes away from villa)||||4. WIfi is working perfect and you can stay in the Vila with you pet - which is very nice, there also was a bath tub in the flat - which is great after a long day in the mountains! Great feelings!||||Some points to be consider and be aware of||||1. In the kitchen even it is well equiped some things are missing - there was no cattle for tea (coffer filter machine was available though), freezer was also broken in the fridge (I think it is done by some fellow travelors before us, the owner said it is ordered already but not yet arrived). You also need your own things for washing the dishes and towels - so be aware of this - there is no salt, sugar and so on... - all you have to bring with you, and decent frying pan is also advised!||||2. The room is rather humid and cold - you need to ventilate it constantly, and it is still humid!||||3. The same said above to kitchen also pass to bath - there is a nice bath tub, but the towels could be better (last time I have seen such a low quality towels were in my youth camp), there is no soap, shampoo, etc.||||Overall I think it is very very nice place to stay for a week or sky tour in the area - the surrounding is marvelous and the place is friendly and very accomodating for the a break from your...
Read moreVilla Hubertus is a hidden gem. Perfect location right above the town for a perfect view, yet literally just a few steps to town and for the lazy an escalator to take you straight to town.||The property was very easy to find. Parking was a big plus. It's an indoor parking with an elevator straight to the apartment which makes it easy when you have luggage.||The apartment was spotless. I usually clean as soon as I get somewhere and even in 5 star hotels you can find dust somewhere but not at VIlla Hubertus. It was spotless.||The kitchen was well equipped with cups, dishes, wine glasses, cutlery, coffee machine, espresso maker, tea kettle, dish towel, salt and pepper a dishwasher and dishwashing liquid||Towels were provided, bath, hands and a tub mat as well as hand soap.||Bed was super comfortable, closet was large with lots of room (on a side note, Gerald, the owner Is a carpenter and everything in the apartment is his handy work. It's easy to see the love, the work and the pride that goes into every piece).||Gerald was a wonderful host. Responsive to all my email before getting there, received us with a warm welcome, and attended to all of our needs with a smile.||A bonus with the apartment, Gerald gave us free bus passes to the different towns and free passes to the swimming pool in town (1 indoor pool and 2 outdoor pools). Gerald, we can't thank you enough for the wonderful 5 days in your home. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. I am sure we will be back. Thank you for my gift, I will cherish it. That was very...
Read moreWe were kindly met by Gerald who showed us through the apartment and told us of facilities in the town.||The most beautiful location above the town, amazing views of snow capped mountains. Don't be afraid that it is high above the town, as there are escalators to take you from top to bottom where there are lovely shops and restaurants.||Although our apartment was self contained, we ate out 3 nights (in the same restaurant) - loved the cosiness of it and the quality of the food and attentive staff.||||Our apartment was on the bottom floor, so had our own grassed area. There were rooms above with balcony. Am not sure that they would have been any better than ours!||||The apartment is immaculately clean, has full kitchen (except no microwave).||Bedding is comfortable and nice.||Parking is secure and underneath the building. It has a lift so no carrying of bags.||Wi fi is available free of charge.||||We stayed here 3 nights. We highly recommend Hubertus apartments if you wish to stay in a pretty town to visit the gorgeous Dolomites! You won't be disappointed.||||The only negative is that it would have been nice to have provided a starter kit for the kitchen. By this I mean some tea bags/coffee for when first arriving.||||Chris and...
