Very misleading review rating by Fork (9). Absolutely horrendous experience. We were a group of six and had booked in advance. We were provided a table right in front of the door despite other tables in the restaurant being free. We were not provided a wine menu in the beginning and had to ask for it separately. We had ordered 5 starters - the egg dish with asparagus was nice, the platter of cheese and cold meat was underwhelming ( possibly the meat slices were cut way too earlier than when they were served to us ), the terrine felt too sweet and it felt like neither a terrine or pate, the raw chianina beef tasted nice but way too much was slapped on the plate for a starter. Fortunately my son did enjoy eating half of it. The most disappointing was the quality of the T-Bone steak. It lacked flavor, was served way too cold and didn't have the amount of fat we are used to see in Fiorintina. It's a complete tourist trap for Bistecca. While serving the starter ( which had both beef and pork dishes) the waiter started talking in our native language ( bengali ) and with a very surprised look asked whether we actually ate pork since according to him not many people ( hinting on our background ) actually eat pork. It was an extremely biased comment that ruined everyone's mood. The wine in our glasses wasn't topped up either and we refilled our glasses on our own. At the end we were so disgusted with the experience we just wanted to leave. It felt suffocating sitting there and waiting for the bill. Am surprised this restaurant has so many goid reviews. We later checked that on google a lot if the positive reviews have been provided by local guides which I always take with a pinch of salt. As mentioned earlier, reviews for this restaurant are very misleading. In a 7 day trip (where we visited Venice, Siena, Val D'Orcia), this was our most disappointing dining experience. Shame on the management...
Read moreThe two of us arrived here early in the evening, right after opening time. Despite the fact that we were only looking for a good glass of wine, we were kindly guided to a table, after which they turned on the music just for us. Liking the ambience, we decided to have a look at the menu as well, after which we decided to eat there as well. The food was served very fast, presentated beautifully, and the quality was very good. While we were eating the restaurant gradually filled with locals and the occassional group of tourists. By the time we finished our main course we had about 25 minutes left, because we were on a schedule. Having received our main courses very quickly, we expected this to be enough time to still order dessert, but since the restaurant was filled to the brim that was a bad estimate on our side. By the time we almost had to leave we still had not received our dessert, despite asking the staff if it was almost ready, because we had to leave soon (which we should've indicated earlier). By the time we had to leave we had not yet received it, so I went to pay. Checking the bill I noticed the dessert was not on there, so I asked if that was correct. The manager confirmed that it was correct, but then went to the kitchen and came back with our dessert in a box for us to take away. I then offered to pay it still, but she said that it was all good and told us to enjoy the dessert (which we certainly did!)
All in all we had a wonderul evening that we won't forget soon. Would definitely...

Cons: quite expensive harsh bright white light for outdoor seating pasta dishes were aggressively mediocre
We were originally planning on going to another restaurant for dinner. It was closed unfortunately, so I quickly found one on Google maps and we ended up here. The first thing I noticed was that the outdoor lighting had harsh, bright, white flood lights illuminating the seating area. It made me feel like I was on a stage, but there was a cool breeze outside so we decided to stay.
The wait staff were nice, I think it's a family run business. A waiter helped us decide what to eat, and choose an accompanying glass of wine. The menu has a handy guide for what is in each dish, whether it be lactose, egg, glucose, or meat. My girlfriend is lactose intolerant, so major props for making it easy for her to decide what to eat.
The pastas were mediocre, not bad, not good. My girlfriend said the ingredient giving the dish the most taste was the pepper we added ourselves (I added parmesan as well), and I'm inclined to agree. My pasta was Al dente, but felt like it was a bit undercooked. The wines were decent, and the Toscan still water was good as well.
Overall, it was a disappointing cap to an otherwise incredible...
