Bar Del Ponte — Restaurant in Syracuse

Really bad experience.

Tea was somehow a bit whitish and bland, not very appetizing. Then, halfway through my first cup (2 cups in the, only 1/3rd filled, pot) I get a bill and an expectant waitress standing over me waiting until I pay, which is incredibly rude.

After I finish the tea I decide that i'd like to order some food (perhaps a snack?). I wave at a waiter to ask for the menu, he makes a point to look away from me, second waiter the same, then a waitress, she turns around and goes inside after seeing my hand. I try one of the waiters again, get a rude "I'm coming" reaction.

5 minutes later, still no waite. So I get up, use the restroom and leave. A waiter comes running after me questioning if I'm not trying to run off without paying my 2.5 euro.

Avoid this place, AKA Bar Cristina.

They will charge you for a "copperto", 2 euros per person, in exchange for... nothing. No olives, no grissini. The cashier had the nerve to say that it was for the plates, fork, knife, oil for the salad (!).

The pizza was bad (sweet tomato sauce) and tomatoes in the tomato & mozzarella salad were not ripe. Plastic glasses for our mineral water.

Hilarious but in a bad way. One waiter was stood outside trying to persuade customers to come in. The three waiters/waitresses covering the four couples sat at tables had no interest in taking our order despite pleading looks.
