I was there on 19/06/2025. It was extremely hot and was standing next to this place to pay for a bottle of water that I bought from the shop next door. This guy at this restaurant asked me to move away from where I was standing very rudely. I was not at all on anyone's way. I have travelled to a few places and I really know how to behave myself and always fully aware of what I do. The owner of the shop where I bought my water was embarrassed by his behaviour. I think that guy is a bully. Someone here has labelled this place as being racist so I guess that person is right . May be this rude guy stereotyped me seeing me as person of colour and decided to be rude. I don't know about his past experiences he have had with coloured people but this is definitely not how to behave towards anyone like this . Didn't know in Syracuse for the first time and I will come across people like this. The rest of the places where I visited the people were absolutely great in Ortigia. I think this guy has...
Read moreMy premise is that I have eaten here in the last three years over the summer. I had always been enthusiastic, while this year it seemed unrecognizable to me. We were a large group so we ordered a lot of dishes and it pains me to say that in ALL we found serious flaws.
We skipped raw foods: we do not doubt the quality, but the prices are beyond madness (180/200 euros per kilo, you pay a shrimp between one thing and another almost 10 euros).
We tried various pastas (all gravely overcooked by Italian standards. The bottarga one with saffron also questionable as the mix is undeclared in the menu and does not really click), tuna (perhaps the only passable thing, but stringy), octopus (I would know how to cook it infinitely better by myself, and I am far from a professional), grilled razor clams (tasteless).
The service is okish, even if not particularly fast nor attentive. Very high final price considering the...

Carnezzeria exceeded our expectations in every way. We were so impressed that we dined here twice in two days! The scampi was an absolute standout, melting in your mouth with every bite and bursting with flavor. The tuna, seared to perfection, was equally impressive, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail.
One of the highlights of our meals was the carbonara – hands down the best I have ever eaten. The rich, creamy sauce and perfectly cooked pasta were a match made in culinary heaven. Additionally, the little lobsters were divine, tender, and packed with deliciousness.
The ambiance of Carnezzeria is inviting, and the staff provided exceptional service, making our dining experience truly memorable. If you're a seafood lover or simply looking for an extraordinary meal, Carnezzeria is a must-visit. We can't...
