First off, if I could give the family 100 stars I would… This is a very special spot. Very unassuming, definitely unpretentious and thousand percent impressive! It is family operated… It is a little hole in the wall not on the tourist path. I have read a past review that commented that the prices are a bit expensive and I really don’t know what they are referencing to. The wine is fabulous and priced at $22 a bottle. The food is fabulous with appetizers and entrées priced around €10. The desert, orange tiramisu, which was made by Nana was five euros.
As far as the review that deducted a star because they (the family) didn’t suggest a dessert or a coffee after the meal… I can only say, I ordered completely off menu. I asked for spaghetti with pesto, prawns and pine nuts… Without hesitation they created it and it was out of this world. I cannot believe someone would deducted because they weren’t willing to ask for what they want. I never order a dessert with a meal because I’m always too full, but I was willing to roll out of there on a stretcher so I ordered a desert because everything they made was extraordinary and I was sure the dessert would be as well. Did I say this is family Run? Made fresh? And extraordinary? It’s truly special… it would be regrettable to go to Ortigia and...
Read moreThis is the first review that I have left on a restaurant, but based upon our experience I decided I had to leave a review. We came here based upon the great reviews but were skeptical at first due to the lack of people on the night that we came. It is a small restaurant, but over the course of the meal were thoroughly impressed with the spectacular food and service. It is owned by a young lady who runs this place herself, with her mom helping to prepare the food. This restaurant impressed all of us with how delicious the food was, from the gnocchi to the spaghetti to the desert as well. Very friendly staff and a cute little place. If you are on the edge about coming here, it’s...
Read moreFantastic Sicilian lunch prepared and served by the delightful family owners, in an adorable little restaurant close to Siracusa's Castle. We had starters of caponata di mare and parmigiana di mare, both amazing, then spaghetti with anchovies and fusilli with red prawns, all cooked to order and tasted out of this world! Treat yourself to a true Sicilian cooked meal here. Maybe the owners will offer you their special after-dinner wine made according to the grandfather's recipe--Zibibbo. Wonderful! (Try to speak Italian here, they will...
