We are Germans living in Sicily for years now... we go out to eat a lot, travel the island, I'm a former restaurateur myself... therefore my wife & me are always more critical than enthusiastic, especially when it comes to "event gastronomy" like beach clubs.
In this context we are all the more enthusiastic about this place, which offers an incredible price-performance-ratio and a really outstanding kitchen we didn't expect. The view on the water is outstanding, furniture is valuable and comfortable, music atmospheric and discreet (ordinarily;), the service careful-professional, the kitchen quick and fabulous - especially as it comes to fish dishes.
For this reasons we use to go out here once a week with our young kids now, enjoying antipasti crudi for lunch, combined with a main course, such as the unique Pizza Nero di Sepia with burrata and gamberi rossi at the moment, since they provide seasonal dishes. On top we are usually having a bottle of Syrah-Rosato, leaving this place in the very end with not much more than 100 € on the bill, whilst inn between we use to enjoy a swim in the sea with our children.
Where you can enjoy something like that? What is done here is unique. I take each of my gastronomic friends here when they come to visit us in the season, and there wasn't a single one who wasn't thrilled. Lovely, highly recommended place with a fabulous team and kitchen....
Read moreWhat a relaxing place Easy music Some staff are great and attentive Others not at all unfortunately Drinks are delicious Free snacks with drinks As to be expected at any beach club they are one or two euros more than most other places But we'll worth it Get a towel as part of your sun lounger fee Some sun loungers have padded cushions others don't The padded ones are divinely comfortable and no extra cost A net below the head bit of sunlounger for your belongings Different seats around bar and restaurant Less than 2 minutes to walk to the see for a dip This is outside the club but by steps The "beach" is miniscule, stoney and a little littered But the wooden steps that lead to the beach are fine despite looking precarious and you're only stepping on the tiny beach for a few steps then in the water Views are great The sunset was lush Great photo opportunities €30 a lounger I arrived just around 11am and was reduced to €25 They walk you to a lounger, don't be shy and make sure you get one you want, they are very helpful
Only thing missing, no steps direct into the sea This...
Read moreDo not support this business. Owner prevented me from using the bathroom after I paid the check. The location only have one full bathroom and one other bathroom with only one urinal present.
The sign on the full bathroom says women, men, and disable customers. And the other one only men.
The staff and him wouldn’t even let me explain that I needed to use the bathroom because I had a number two emergency. In my case, I not only had a number 2 emergency but I am also a disabled person who has specific needs to use a toilet.
He ignored anything that I would try to say, told me to shut twice, the staff was also very rude telling me not to speak out loud when I wasn’t. Trying to shut me up,
Even though, the place is well located the mentality of this time of owner make this world a segregating place where people with special needs is not seen as an equal in basic necessities such as using the bathroom.
I will follow through with an official complaint with the authorities, but I also ask for your empathy and not giving the preference for businesses managed by people...
