I write reviews extremely rarely. But couldn’t stand what’ve just experienced. I found this spot on one of the blogs about Sicily listed as a place to avoid (the reason the author mentioned was the crew treat tourists differently from locals). I really wanted to check it out on my own and I popped in. The choice of flavors is really abundant… and so what?… There was a couple (Americans? British?) in front of me, ordering. The very moment the guy has started ordering in English the lady behind the counter turned back and took an ice cream scooper from the sink, although there were spades in every single ice cream container. This very moment I immediately turned back and left. I bet the Italians get their portions served with a spade while the tourists are being fooled. Italian ice cream is served with spade! If it’s not discrimination against non-locals, I don’t really know what would be… You may say: it’s the private business and the owner can do whatever he/she wants. True.
