Ortigia: Sicily's Baroque Jewel Where Time Stopped

Visited this small but delightful pebbly beach in July with the kids. The water is incredibly clear and warm, making it so inviting to cool down. Easy to spot fishes swimming by. It's also shaded from the sun by late afternoon making it a pleasure to swim in. To get to the deeper water there is a row of rocks to navigate through so swim shoes are a MUST. The only danger is my 9yo found a bearded fireworm which she captured on her underwater camera. We later read up on these and discovered how dangerous these creatures were if they stung you! So just be super careful when navigating the water esp around the rocky areas as you don't want to accidentally touching one of these - you have been warned! There are also some sort of spider looking crabs hiding in the rocks which freaked the kids as they tried to swim around them! Apart from this we absolutely loved this beach!

This hidden gem offers crystal-clear turquoise waters and beautiful rock formations that make it a perfect spot for swimming and snorkeling. Set within the heart of Syracuse’s stunning coastline, it’s a place where you can truly unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of Sicily. Though the beach is rocky and not ideal for those looking for sand, the incredible water clarity and peaceful setting make up for it. Access is a bit tricky due to the rocky path down, but the view is absolutely worth it. Great for adventurous beachgoers seeking a unique spot.
