Ristorante Arricrìati — Restaurant in Syracuse

The view and location is superb; the staff is very friendly and professional. As regards to the food, at least at the time of our visit as a group, the food was just ok. Everyone on the table had different dishes of fried fish and fillet steaks. The fritto misto consisted of small sized shrimps, calamari and other assortments. The shrimps were expected to be larger in size, so a little disappointment. The steak was edible but not a wow, ordering a medium i was expecting fluids to run out of the meat, but it was rather on the dry side. Had it been just one plate we would have spoken to the staff, but with more than one plate falling short of meeting our expectations for the price paid, we just understood that this is the level of food that gets served at this restaurant. On a positive sidenote, the booking process was straightforward, easy and a pleasant communication. In our opinion, the restaurant is not a total rip off, and i hope that the owners viewing this post take the feedback constructively and see where and how they can improve even further the quality of food that is served. Terrible experience! The waitress not only displayed complete indifference towards us but also spilled beer on us. Instead of offering apologies or at least showing some remorse, they simply suggested we move to another table. When we expressed our dissatisfaction and decided to leave, they tried to hold us back, claiming that we had already placed an order. They showed no concern for our wet clothes and unpleasant feelings, as if it were our fault! We had to raise our voices to finally leave. To top it off, they insisted we pay for the beer and water we didn't even get to finish due to this horrible situation. We will never return, and we strongly discourage anyone from visiting this place!

This place is fantastic, and the food is outstanding. I’ve traveled across both northern and southern Italy multiple times, but I had the best spaghetti of my life right here. I ordered the Spaghetti alla Bolognese (spaghetti in meat sauce), while my wife had the Arrosto Misto di Pesce (mixed grilled fish). We also started with fried calamari. All three dishes were excellent—the calamari tasted far better than any I’ve had in the U.S. But the real highlight for both of us was the spaghetti—it was truly the best I’ve ever had.
