Cala Piada — Restaurant in Syracuse

Piada with great ingredients, and with a totally dry and tasteless bread. For this price you'd expect something better, but as the english-only menu suggests, this place is aimed only at foreign tourists, who have no idea about what is a good piada and that you can get better ones for about 3.50. The service was kind and nice, though they also charge an extra 10% service charge for this, on top of the already overpriced piadas. On the other hand, it is a honest place with no hidden charges, it is just... If you pay the double price + service charge, you'd expect at least a decent bread... The restaurant is a small but definitely pleasant. The person taking the other was very nice and understanding and recommended options in English. The food is delicious! The Piadi are sandwiches made of homemade flat Italian bread that you can customize, you choose a meat option, you can den decide if you would like cream cheese or mozzarella cheese and final decide on vegetables the mint popularized picks are tomatoes or rocket salad. They are brought a little bit toasted so they are a bit crispy but not dry. There are also salad options and home made deserts. After a lovely afternoon at the beach, we decided to stop by Cala PiADA with our toddler. Initially, my wife preferred a place with table service, but something about the warm greeting we received drew us in. I’m so glad we stayed!
