I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but given the lovely holiday we have had so far in Taormina and being made to feel very welcome everywhere else, it felt appropriate to lay out the dreadful service we experienced this evening. We arrived and asked if there was a table for 2, to which we waited 10mins whilst they discussed whether they could fit us in (no huge problem as we hadn't booked ahead), but from that point on they wanted nothing to do with us. We waited a good 15minutes after sitting to receive menus, and another 20minutes after that to order - we were not given a drinks menu, so asked to see the wine list before ordering (another 15min wait for that menu). The food actually came rather promptly and was good quality (a little small portions but nothing outrageous!) so we thought things were looking up, but no one came to take a drinks order ever again, so we ate the mains and decided to give up on drinks. We then just looked to settle the bill, but after waiting almost an hour for the table to be cleared, and asking 3 separate waiters for the bill, we finally gave up and had to physically head to the bar to pay up. Over two hours spent here just to eat 2 mains and then sit whilst everyone else was served/attended to around us. The only redeeming quality was it's a lovely place to sit and relax - good music and nice lights in the evening. Other couples around seemed equally perplexed with the service, on what was a relatively quiet Monday evening. A shame after seeing all the very...
Read moreSuch a gorgeous courtyard and the food was delicious. But the service was AWFUL. By far the worst service we've had in Taormina and we've been here for a week. We didn't get a wine menu then when we asked for and got given one, the waiter stood next to us while we decided so we felt very rushed and just randomly chose. We ordered two antipasti, one primi and one secondi to share. Before we could order any contorni the waiter walked off. They brought the primi and secondi together and we finished the wine midway through, but no one came to ask if we wanted any more drinks - and no one asked at all for the entire evening. Once we got the dolci menu we had to wait ages then had to wave to a waiter to get them to take our order. We asked for the bill then waited ten minutes before asking for it again and then waited again while they did something else then got it. Overall we felt the waiters concentrated on whoever was on their main walkways and it seemed incredibly disorganised. We felt unvalued and ignored for most of the time we were there, we were really looking forward to visiting and booked a table.for our last night but the whole experience really soured our last night in Taormina. I would not go back and would tell people to not come here as the service is so so poor. Just to add, the restaurant was not at all busy, maybe a quarter of the tables had people sat at, and there were at...
Read moreI would consider myself a restaurant aficionado, and was looking forward to a great meal at this restaurant, with my family And from the start it went south, First we had to walk into the middle of the restaurant to have someone seats us. (TERRIBLE), Then the middle ages waiter came over, with 5 raw fish on a plate and bearly explained what they were, and NOT A,WORD OF ENGLISH, i had no idea what these fishes were and not one of the seven people there knew what he said ,and 5 of them understood Italian, After 15/20 mins, this horrible waiter retured and asked do you want to order and do you want wine, (This man has zero right to be serving people) No I don't. i would like to order drinks first and then I'll order my wine,he could not show me a list or explain to me what kind of drinks I could have, And acted like he was doing me a favor, we order 3 course mean and once the meals were given to us, NO ONE RETURNED TO FILL OUR WINE GLASSES,OR REFILL THE BREAD BASKET, The service here for this kind of restaurant was as bad as I have EVER HAD,... but to be fair the food was very good, but the service RUINED MY NIGHT, And for that I say Shame on you, Free advice "Go spend your 500.00 where they appreciate you" P.s mr middle-aged waiter you should pack it in "you...
