The best pizza eaten in Taormina and for us, the best pizza eaten ever!

We may recommend Sicilliana and Messiciana (or smth like that). Both of those pizzas were amazing. For desserts we ate here great home made tiramissu and pistacho souflet (amazing!), and took pineapple juices (not made by the restaurant fresh, but still good quality).

When going without reservation, do not worry, as there are plenty of tables. Go to the service at entrance and give them your name, they will shout it out, when the table is free and ready. Nice thing, as you do not need to keep staying in the queue, but can wander slightly around looking at amazing Italian architecture or simply sit on the stairs.

Service itself was fast, kind and without any issues we could think of. Perfect timing of when to come to the guest (recommend the waitress, who does not eat cheese like my wife).

Pizza without cheese was amazing also, as not dry at all. Good for people, who cannot or don't want to eat cheese.

For the place itself, it feels authentic and gives strong Italian vibe. Tables not too crowded, so it does not feel you are onto or listening to other guests. Bathrooms separeted (male and female). For women, the bathrooms are in the main part, where kitchen is. It is overall closer to most tables, so I feel it is a nice touch for ladies! Bathroom for men is slightly on the edge of the terrain, when taking small stairs to the upper room. It may be tough to find it at first, so feel free to ask waiter for guidance (there are signs leading to it, but not enough in my opinion).

The restaurant has a nice, large outdoor dinning space. Service was slow and erratic but it was friendly. We both ordered pizzas with a mozzarella base and both of our pizzas were covered, almost drowning in liquid that we had to drain from the pizza before eating. My wife did ask a waiter why her pizza was covered with so much liquid and the server said this was due to the liquid in the mozzarella being released and this was normal but that, if she was not happy, then she would replace it. Some fellow diners on a neighbouring table did raise an eyebrow when they saw our pizzas arrive and were not convinced either when we told them of our server’s explanation for the floating toppings. The replacement pizza was much improved, with much less standing liquid covering the topping. I have been on this planet for a good few years and eaten my fair share of pizza (in Taormina and elsewhere in Italy) and have never before had a pizza with mozzarella that is drowning in mozzarella juice. These cheeses really aren’t difficult to drain, so probably worth asking chef to drain the mozzarella if you don’t want soggy pizza. Service staff go AWOL at around closing time so you may have to go looking for staff if you want to pay your bill.
