A Culinary Oasis in Taormina: Our Adduma Experience After a particularly chaotic week (let's just say some of us know the agony of closing our business for seven days!), my wife and I found a much-needed respite at Adduma in Taormina. We were seeking an escape, and Adduma delivered a truly memorable culinary journey. I had the fish ceviche, a vibrant and refreshing dish that perfectly captured the essence of the Mediterranean. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the bright, zesty marinade was a delightful awakening for the palate. For my main course, I opted for the fillet steak, cooked medium rare. It arrived perfectly seared with a tender, juicy interior, a testament to the kitchen's skill. My wife had the tempura fillet, a surprisingly light and crispy appetizer that showcased the quality of the ingredients. The batter was delicate, allowing the flavor of the fish to shine through. This was followed by the rich and hearty Genovese ragu, a deeply flavorful pasta dish that transported her straight to culinary heaven. The slow-cooked meat was incredibly tender, and the sauce clung beautifully to the pasta. To cap off our exceptional meal, we shared the tiramisu. It was a classic done right – creamy, coffee-soaked layers balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. Each spoonful was a perfect ending to a fantastic dinner. I finished with a perfectly chilled lemonchello, and to top it off they even provided us with son candy floss, and who, doesn't like candy floss? Adduma provided not just a meal, but an experience. The quality of the food, from the fresh ceviche to the perfectly cooked steak and the comforting ragu, was outstanding. It was exactly the "beacon of hope" we needed after a long week. We certainly won't forget Adduma, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.

P.s. some of you might think this review is a little over the top, but what the hell...

Went for a birthday dinner and the meat was flavorful but overall it was a disappointing experience. Ordered a mixed meat dish that was supposed to come with grilled vegetables and when it came it was grilled chicory which I have never had before but it was horrid. Very tough so impossible to fully chew and in my option inedible and a very horrible bitter taste. I mentioned it 2 servers and she apologized but offered nothing for us, not another dish or anything aside from thanks for telling us. Honestly not what I would consider a grilled vegetable (I have only had it roasted as a coffee substitute before) and for the price and especially for a birthday celebration a disappointment. Service was also slow and several times I had to stand and go try to find a server for help.

For what we received and the quality of service it was very overpriced.

Adding since there was a response that I did tell the server when I was mentioned the vegetables were not good that we were there celebrating a birthday. I talked to 2 people about the vegetables so perhaps birthday celebration was mentioned to the other server. And whether grilled or seasonal vegetables the chicory was not good. For a high end restaurant I would have expected a better response when we gave the feedback that it was too tough, a bit like chewing on bitter straw.

Regardless when mentioning the issue about the veggies to either server the response was lackluster. If this was a casual fast food restaurant I wouldn’t expect much but I would for...

It’s clearly a tourist trap: they serve you overpriced meat they present “special meat pieces” to every interested customer with a large platter and they touch, expose and leave these “pricey” pieces of meat in the open for way too long before preparing them for the table (we’re talking 120€-140€ per kilo of meat!)

I ordered a pasta dish with black truffle but I didn’t get what I asked for, and when I gave the remark that “the truffle was very shy cause I couldn’t taste it”, it turned out that the waitress “had made a mistake and gave me an ‘off off menu’ course”, which she eventually billed for almost the same price - while I didn’t get the black truffle! also, they don’t take feedback well - they actually get upset if you mention you’re not satisfied my boyfriend took the the pork belly from the regular menu and it was really boring compared to some other local restaurants dishes in Sicily there is no Italian local there, only tourists, which is usually a clear sign that you’re not getting quality for your overpriced dishes on the positive side, they do have a good wine list…

I clearly do not recommend this place for a good local and qualitative...

The food wasn't terribly bad although the staff were friendly. That’s the reason for one star, otherwise it would have been “zero stars”. Awful standard of quality for the prices. My dish “Selezione di carne (filetto - brisket - picanha)” had less than one table spoon of caponata, and the meat was hard to chew, looking that was coming from ancient cattle. The other dish was too greasy. The portion sizes were ridiculous, and the staff - albeit very polite and friendly - were awfully slow to serve us and other customers. We cancelled the dessert due to the long waiting and we were told that there was missing staff at the kitchen. If you're looking for a nice meal, there are several other establishments, with cheaper prices and fantastic food. This was a total disappointment and I can’t understand the score they have here on GoogleMaps.

Bravi davvero.
