A word for all visitors. You can sit on the edge of the water. We purchased a drink from here and walked to the pier and sat at the waters edge to watch the sea and sunset. One of the employees came and told us it was private and we couldn’t be here. A well dressed young charismatic Italian man interjected in rapid and passionate Italian and politely told the employee off. He then turned to us and said it was Italian law that the first 5 metres of the shoreline was public land and we were fine to be there. He proceeded to strip off his nice tailored suit and went for a swim. Maybe in protest. He had no towel. Another man appeared shortly after (apparently the restaurant owner) and started arguing with the young man in Italian. The young man passionately replied from the water in Italian until the owner left. He then finished his swim and politely explained to us that he had asserted his rights and threatened to call the police on the owner for harassing him and us. We applaud this young man. -5 stars for the attitudes of the owner and staff. 1 star for the overpriced and mediocre cocktail we purchased and 2 stars for the standard glass of white wine. Unfortunately -2 is not a google option. So 1 will suffice.
Update: after some interesting web reading (google ‘mare libero association’) it is true what the young man said. 5 meters from the waterline is public land. We were within our rights to sit where we were and enjoy the space. Shame on you for your actions and trying to...
Read moreVery bad expirience , I am really sorry about this bad reputation this is not about the resturant's as it seems a very good one with delicious food , but about the bad behavior & bad manners of the boat skipper that comes next to the boat's to pick up clients that book to eat there! We rented a boat & came to swim at Isola bella & eat. I came up there together with my family to eat there . We booked together with another boat that was next to us. Time for pick up was at 13:00hrs , the shuttle came at 13:20 which was already late. When he passed next to us he said that he has other clients before us and went to picked up the people that booked with us & left us there. When he came back, he ignored us again, we even sounded our horn & kept ignoring us, & picked up other clients that came around 2 hours after us, he came out again , he passed next to us & told us he is going to pick other clients and come to pick us with them . Later he came & when we cought his boat with ours he arrogantly shouted with me & the boys for no reason and when he saw my mother which is an elder he said no no no this can't be done !, & left us hungry stranded there!. My mother would have deffintly climbed it with some time ,but he was not patient . We are really disapointed as we had to ruin our holiday & return the boat to go to eat back from Naxos beach. Read moreMy recent experience at Pizzichella - Ristorante - Lido was quite disappointing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place due to the terrible service we received and the poor seating arrangement.
Firstly, the waiter's manners were extremely off-putting. They were rude, inattentive, and showed no interest in providing a good dining experience. Their lack of professionalism was evident from the moment we walked in until we decided to leave. It felt as though we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers.
To make matters worse, we were seated right next to the rubbish bin. It was not only unpleasant but also unsanitary. This seating arrangement showed a complete lack of consideration for our comfort and gave the impression that the restaurant did not care about providing a pleasant environment for its guests.
The combination of the rude waiter and the undesirable seating made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. It was clear that our presence was not appreciated, so we decided to leave without even ordering any food.
It is unfortunate to have such a negative experience, especially considering the potential that Pizzichella - Ristorante - Lido may have had in terms of its location and concept. However, until they improve their customer service and seating arrangements, I would advise others to seek alternative dining options...
