Antica Panelleria Za Paolina — Restaurant in Trapani

Excellent arancini. I randomly walked past this panelleria one day and saw locals queueing, so thought this must be a good place to eat. Next day I went in (I've only seen now that I needed a ticket but there was no queue anyway). The owner does not speak English but we did our best to communicate (knowing at least Italian numbers and food names is helpful) - very friendly. I needed to wait for a few minutes to get the freshest arancini - one with ragu and one with mozarella with proscuitto that stayed hot for ages. Would have definitely come back for couscous if my stay in Trapani...

As local as it gets, take a ticket and wait your turn. There is no fanfare. My Italian is awful but just read from the board. I don't recommend the panino melanzane (cold eggplant in a bun) but the traditional panino con panelle and croquette was excellent (if not in need of some sauce, as always)....
