The restaurant is well located and has a solid rating on Google, but unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience.
We were served by a young waiter (he didn’t share his name — dark-skinned, with a tattoo on his arm, and possibly of Indian descent) who seemed to be in a bad mood. As soon as we were handed the menus, he immediately asked us to place our full order — not just drinks — and stood there waiting for a response, which felt quite uncomfortable and pressured.
When we asked for recommendations, he vaguely said, “everything.” When asked which wines were local, he replied, “all of them,” which was clearly not accurate, as Trieste does not produce all the varieties on the list.
Both my wife’s and my dishes were overly salty. We politely asked if there was any cream or cheese we could use to tone down the saltiness, but were simply told they had none — no alternatives, no apology, no effort to assist.
After that, no one returned to our table. I eventually had to go to the counter to pay the bill myself.
Sadly, what should have been a pleasant meal turned into a disappointing evening due to poor service and...
Read moreRestaurant looked busy, menu looked good. We ordered lasagna & bolognese. Both of which stated on the menu to be a beef ragu. However this was not a proper ragu, it was just mince. Not only this, the food was far too quick to arrive at the table.
The worst bit - the food was bland, flavourless, clearly unseasoned and possibly microwaved. We both managed to eat a good amount of the food, however you would get a better ready meal. Not only this, the bread served FOC was poor quality and stale.
When I approached the front of house to provide feedback, there was no urge to resolve the situation, or provide compensation. The answer was simply ‘we sell one thousand a day’. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. Very very disappointed, worst meal we have...
Read moreA very disappointing experience. The staff was inattentive and the service extremely slow — even by Italian standards. The setting felt cheap, with plastic chairs and disposable tablecloths.
Food was well below average. The bruschetta had decent tomatoes, but the bread and seasoning were poor. The scallops were drowned in spices, making them unrecognizable. Pasta was cooked al dente, but completely lacked flavor or creativity.
This was our worst meal in Italy. Don’t trust the positive reviews — likely fake or from first-time visitors. We came only because it was the only open place during siesta, but it’s clearly a tourist trap aimed at cruise ship crowds. Would...
