Osteria Ai Giardinieri — Restaurant in Trieste

Wow. Wonderful small restaurant in upper Trieste. We had a spontaneous lunch here because it was near our accommodation. What a find! There seems to be only four or so choices on the menu but my wife and I had one of the best pastas of our lives. Small choice with a giant reward. The establishment is old school on a quiet side street near the Gardinieri Pubblico Muzio de Tommasini. The pasta is fresh with a sauce that I would guess has been handed down through family generations. Simply unforgettable. We paired a quarter litre of house wine with each meal and that was perfect. For context , we have been in Italy for a month between Rome and the north east and this simple little find was the best pasta we have had here. Well...

No frills restaurant. It gets to the essence of taste, hospitality and freshness. By far the best eating experience in Trieste.
