Lets start with the positives - good atmosphere. Stops at that. This definitely ranks as one of the worst places i have ever been. The waitress was haughty and gave this vibe that seemed like she was paying us to eat there. We were ordering, and then decided to change an order - she claimed it was difficult to change order once made and then reluctantly told it can be done. The decision to change order was in the midst of us ordering and was done within 20 seconds, so a lil curious on what amazing speed order system they're using. Next, the waitress spilled my beer (3/4th left) while delivering the order. Proceeded to a very slow cleanup while i patiently waited. After the utensils etc was replaced, i sat down to eat while waiting for my beer to be replaced. Took quite awhile, i signaled her to ask and she said yes sure, coming. Another 15 mins later, i explained the situation to another waitress. Was told she claimed it was my fault instead but anyway they will replace the beer. Arrived another 10 mins later (it's about 20m from my tavle to the bar). Later i find it charged in the bill. Wondered whether it would be worth arguing but as a tourist there with my daughter was afraid it might get out of hand (and they were probably counting on this). Anyway, i hope this review helps whoever reading to decide - just skip.it. food was bland and hardly worth the price as well. Overall, you have more choices along that area and save...

Before I wrote this review I looked at some of the other recent reviews made and my husband and I looked at each other as each bad comment just strengthened our awful experience of this restaurant/bar. This was the first one that hit the mark- “While this ambience is pleasant the wait staff are pretentious, slow and ignored me multiple times”. There were multiple comments made by people over the past few weeks that highlighted the inadequacy of the staff in this eaterie. Our experience began when we asked if we could sit at a table and the waitress indicated a table at the window. Another member of staff brought all menus and then we sat….and sat….and sat despite trying our hardest to catch any one of the 4 members of staff’s eye. Is there no management running this place? One of the waitresses spent time carefully clearing the table next to ours but did not once look our way. It was like we suddenly became invisible! My husband is not the most patient of people and after 10 minutes of sitting there with no drinks and no order taken he said that he would only wait 5 more minutes but the time ran out and so did we…with a total look of shock on the faces of the clients at the next table. Please, please avoid at all costs until they either train their staff or hire...

I’m really sorry for not reading reviews for this place before I placed my foot in it. Service was very poor, slow and sloppy. Staff were extremely unpleasant especially the manager of this “cafe”. As soon as we ordered some food and drinks, manager came to our table and placed a sticker on our table. On sticker was written that table is reserved and that we have to be out in 45-50min. because table is reserved. This could be avoided if she said that before an order and before our drinks were on table. Then they brought out plates with something that could not be called a food. Yesterday polenta, uncooked rice, semi raw meat (bbq ribs), chewy stew… Only good thing was vino … but that was not made by them so if the bottle is fresh, nothing to screw up. And at the end, couvert on the bill was 7,50€ per person which is super high for a service like this. Avoid this place for everything but for coffee and glass of wine.

One of the biggest...

Along the Grand Canal of Trieste is a strip of touristy-type restaurants, among which is The Bridge 1754. Patios certainly fill up quickly along the banks of the Grand Canal, and we were fortunate to be seated under beautiful weather overlooking the canal and the superb Triestine architecture. It was only a stop over for us, so we ate lightly, having a swordfish and buratta insalata, as well as a selection of signature bruschettas from the seasonal menu. Both were simply good dishes, beautifully prepared. It's important to note that there was a "tourist" tax on our bill - I'm unsure if this is custom for Trieste (we went to a number of other places that did not have this tax) or it was a tax for sitting outside on the patio, but I feel this was something that needs to be communicated to patrons. Service was good. We had no issues. It's a great place for a quick bite, but there are many places that offer a similar experience along the Grand Canal of Trieste.

I got the to “The Bridge” based off instinct. Lovely place with a cute atmosphere. I sat inside and really appreciated the aesthetic. Met a man that was seated next to me, I asked if he came here often and he said “everyday” and I was like “wow okay, that’s a great sign.” I got my food and to be honest… He was right! If I lived in Trieste I would be coming almost everyday if Chef Luz is preparing the amazing yummy food. I ordered the pasta bolognese al’arrabiata,(not in the menu) and LET ME TELL YOU!!! DELICIOUS !! Chef LUZ!! She is LIGHT! (Just like my mom her name is Luz too) and SHE’S COLOMBIAN! So I felt like my mom cooked for me. 😭😩❤️🦋✨✨✨ I love it. I will be back when my ship docks in Trieste again! Lovely staff and yummy coffee :)))) Everything is cooked fresh, which does take time !

24.09.01 Right next to the Grand Canal. The location is perfect—outdoor seating offers a beautiful view, making it a great spot to enjoy the sunset while sipping a drink. The bar has a good selection of wines, beers, and cocktails, along with a food menu. We decided to try their cocktails, but unfortunately, they weren’t impressive. If you're looking for a well-made drink, I’d recommend sticking to wine or beer instead. Overall, the atmosphere is lovely, and it's worth visiting for the view and a relaxing evening. Just make sure to choose the right drink!
