La trattoria Di Napoli — Restaurant in Trieste

I visited your trattoria with my family last sunday. The food was really good (eventually), but everything else was a total desaster:

The waiters, while having lots of fun chatting and walking in&out empty, ignored us most of the time. For both, ordering food and drinks, we had to ask them to come. We waited ~1h30min for our food. We did not order something special, 1 risotto, 2 pasta with sea food, 1 pasta with potatos. Many tables around us, some of which arrived 30min later than us, received their same food much before. When asking why it takes so long, the waiters did not given an answer. The waiting time would be more acceptable if the waiters asked us for drinks in the waiting time, but they did not, after the first 30 min of waiting we were out of drinks. At the end, when the food finally arrived, they gave us discount smaller than the coperto, but did not even say sorry.

So only visit this trattoria if you only care about the quality of food (which is good!), but have lots of time and possibly bring your own drinks, since the waiters don't feel the need to...

Disgusting! Went with a group, we are chefs. This restaurant doesn't meet the bare minimum of the "fancy dining" they try to mimic. We had two courses. Pasta with fish, tuna steak. Pasta was overcooked with 1/4 of a fish shredded into the sauce. Lemon was overzested so the entire dish was just bitter. Worst of all was the scombroid POISONING (itching, tingling of the mouth) we ALL got from the tuna steak due to the improper storing of the fish. This leads to histamine buildup and people can have serious reactions. When we tried to explain this to the waiter, he rudely started to explain what a steak is and not taking us seriously whatsoever. The replies to the lower ratings don't shock me at all, given this waiters attitude! A disgrace to Italian cuisine. Do...

This was our favourite place while we were on holiday!

The food was absolutely incredible! Perfect place to go if you enjoy fish. It was also much less expensive than we expected, our bill was half what we thought it was going to be!

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Our waiter was so kind and patience with us. My boyfriend doesnt usually drink wine but decided to give it a go as we were in Italy and the waiter talked askes him what sort of things he enjoyed and what sort of food he was thinking of going for and made some recommendations. A few of the staff also had a little chat with us after we finished. The seemed to with everyone.

They are just such lovely people.
