Bottega Calabra - BO.CA. — Restaurant in Tropea

I had been living in Tropea for a few weeks and this place and their sister restaurant, la dispensa by boca, are my favorite spots by far. The food is amazing, I enjoyed every meal and kept going back.

I tried a few of the pasta dishes and main courses, and all are delicious, including the friesian sirloin steak, which was perfectly cooked. the three course tasting menu is a very good value. All of the seafood was very fresh and very well prepared. I loved how they mixed flavors and explored new ways of incorporating Calabrese staples. Each meal was a really fun foodie experience. The wine selection is also excellent.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and excited about the food and wine. It’s also beautiful as it is in the square next to the duomo.

Ci siamo recati presso bottega calabra nel mese di ottobre 2020. abbiamo trovato il locale dopo aver camminato in ogni singolo vicolo di tutta la città di Tropea.

Eravamo alla ricerca di un locale che offrisse cucina tipica dell'entroterra calabrese differente da tutti gli altri ristoranti presenti in Tropea che offrono principalmente Anzi esclusivamente piatti di mare oppure al massimo pizza.

Abbiamo trovato bottega calabra da prima guardo su Internet poi successivamentetrovandola fisicamente passeggiando per le strade di Tropea.

Di seguito un breve le mie osservazioni:

Servizio: servizio alla mano allo stesso tempo cordiale e simpatico. Molto apprezzato il fatto di portare i piatti coperti (da coperchio) ma soprattutto molto apprezzato il racconto del piatto, cosa ormai abituale in tutti i ristoranti che propongono una cucina "pensata" e di qualità. i piatti vengono presentati in maniera più che buona con standard da cucina medio-alta internazionale.

Menu: essendoci stato due volte è in ambedue le occasioni avendo preso sia antipasto che primo e secondo posso garantire la qualità di ogni singolo piatto a partire dalla qualità delle materie prime di eccellenza come ad esempio il tartufo assolutamente fresco , l agnello di ottima qualità e sicuramente nostrano come anche il maiale . In particolare vorrei specificare che ad oggi è veramente difficile trovare in qualsivoglia ristorante un maiale di alta qualità, di solito si trovano carni veramente schifose provenienti da allevamenti intensivi ,sulla maiale certe cose si notano subito essendo una bestia particolarmente senziente..beh qui il maiale era sicuramente un animale cresciuto bene e sano.

Conto: incontro non è certamente dei più economici anche se devo dire che ho pagato abbastanza volentieri , la qualità delle materie prime va riconosciuta Come va anche riconosciuto il fatto che sia l'unico locale in tuta Tropea ad offrire pietanze con materie prime dell' entroterra.

Conclusione: locale tutti quelli del contesto con materie prime di altissima qualità, cucina studiata con un ottimo taglio internazionale partendo da tipicità del territorio.

Per chi vuole la qualità locale certamente...

Kind of disappointing, especially in terms of customer service. We tried one of their pastas (indeed really delicious) and also a steak, which proved to be chewy and undercooked. What surprised me in such a restaurant with a high rating is the fact that the waitress did not care at all about my comment regarding the meat, saying only 'you don't like it? oh, sorry' replying to my words. The other members of the personnel were kind, but this lady seemed always in a rush and not caring much about us as customers.

Yet, the restaurant is in a beautiful spot, it is stylish with an interesting variety of selection, but as it is considered one of the best spots in Tropea I expected better attitude (and better...
