Update! The owner has replied and said that they corrected the services and that this was not good enough for us. This is not accurate, for 50 minutes they ignored us, and still served us no food, so as to what they immediately corrected I’m not sure but as customers we left with no apology and no food. 🤷🏼‍♂️

So we saw this place the first day we arrived and were excited to get a nice meat and cheese platter the following day. When we arrived shortly after we were seated we were kindly asked to switch tables to accommodate a larger group, not an issue. When our drinks when to the wrong table we managed to flag the server who understood that we had been moved. We had ordered a meat and cheese platter and one sandwich. The table that was sat where we were was promptly served their food. So we waited. After another 20 minutes two other tables we promptly sat and then served. We asked the server and he said there had been a mix up and it would be five more minutes. Five minutes pass and the tables seated on either side of us had both been seated and served, no food, nobody checking in. We checked with another server again, this time asking what had happened and they said there had been a mix up and five more minutes. We waited a total of 50 minutes for a literal sandwich and meats and cheeses placed on a tray, that took them for one table less than five minutes to do. We left with no food. On top of that it was clear they knew we had not been served because every-time they came out from the kitchen they stared at our table. Not sure what take 50 minutes to assemble a sandwich or arrange meat and cheese (which they could clearly do in minutes) but this was by far the worst service I had received in years, a total embarrassment.

Abbiamo visto questo posto il primo giorno del nostro arrivo e siamo tornati il giorno dopo entusiasti all’idea di provare un tagliere di salumi e formaggi. Purtroppo è stata un’enorme delusione.

Appena seduti, ci hanno chiesto gentilmente di cambiare tavolo per far spazio a un gruppo più grande — nessun problema. Ma da lì è stato un disastro. Le nostre bevande sono finite a un altro tavolo, e già questo ci ha fatto intuire che qualcosa non andava. Abbiamo ordinato un tagliere e un panino: niente di complicato.

Nel frattempo, il tavolo che si è seduto dove eravamo noi è stato servito subito. Poi altri due tavoli arrivati dopo di noi sono stati seduti e serviti prima di noi. Dopo 20 minuti abbiamo chiesto spiegazioni: ci hanno detto “c’è stato un errore, cinque minuti”. Sono passati altri 30.

Abbiamo chiesto di nuovo. Stessa risposta: “c’è stato un errore, cinque minuti”.

Cinque minuti sono diventati cinquanta. Nessun controllo, nessuna scusa, nessun cibo. Alla fine ce ne siamo andati senza mangiare.

Il dettaglio più assurdo? Ogni volta che qualcuno usciva dalla cucina, ci guardava: era chiaro che sapevano di non averci ancora servito.

Non so cosa ci voglia 50 minuti per assemblare un panino e un tagliere che per altri tavoli richiedeva meno di cinque. È stato il peggior servizio ricevuto da anni.

I can’t rate the food, because after ONE hour of being gaslit into thinking that our food was on our way, it never showed. Instead, I had the pleasure of watching five other tables who sat and had their orders taken after mine, get served. Each time we asked, we were told ‘five more minutes’ and nothing. Eventually, we paid for our drinks and left. Now understand, Tropea in the summer, tourists everywhere. This place is on the corner of a busy street. They will bring in business no matter what. So why should I write this? Bc tourism is not an excuse for bad service. Get your business in order. Offer another drink. Check in on those you are keeping waiting. Been there once and it was enough. The first course was tasty but nothing special - local salamis and a bit of the local “onion” marmelade. As this was not really a lot for two people, we bought another plate with 4 breads with different spreads. The spreads were just horrible - lots of onion and so much spices that you just need to cough - nothing to really enjoy. We paid for two courses and 4 drinks (beer and fanta) 70 euros. We paid too much for something so ordinary. Service was not really good as well. When calling for the waiter after quite some time, he just signaled to wait more, but in an unfriendly way....
