Caffè Fiorio in Turin is a truly special place, steeped in history and charm. Known for its classic, elegant style and beautifully preserved furnishings, it offers a glimpse into a bygone era. This café was once a gathering spot for great philosophers, writers, and intellectuals of the 19th century, including Friedrich Nietzsche. Walking through its doors feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by an atmosphere that inspires reflection and creativity.
One of the highlights of visiting Caffè Fiorio is trying their signature drink, the bicerin. This traditional Turinese beverage is a delightful mix of hot chocolate, coffee, and cream—a rich and indulgent treat. While it may not be everyone’s favorite, it’s worth trying at least once for the authentic local experience.
What truly sets this café apart, however, is its ambiance. The combination of historic significance, classical decor, and a relaxed yet refined setting makes it a must-visit for anyone in Turin. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a literary fan, or simply someone who enjoys unique places, Caffè Fiorio is a perfect spot to soak in culture while savoring a cup of something warm. Highly...
Read moreI have become a regular at this cafe for my morning coffee and for ocassional long evening sits, i must say I have never been met with any of the bad service mentioned in other reviews, it has always been a very good experience, ive been always treated with respect and consideration at all times.
Yes. Prices are slightly higher than in non-historic cafes, but I must say the place does fill you with a soothing mental solitude when sitting down by yourself for a cup of chocolate that has always made sitting down for a cup worth the extra euro or two compared to an on-the-go shop. Sometimes slowing down for an almost ritual process of dipping panna on your chocolate is needed.
If talking is your thing you can hang out at the bar and strike a casual convo with another client or with the barista, i have not been refused a light talk.
The chocolate was amazing, either normal or gianduia, the coffee is great too. Im not a gelato person but ive ordered it and its tasty. Absolutely recommend...
Read moreOne of the best Zabajone in town. Delicate, extremely flavorful and tasty. Excellent Bunnet. Overall decadent vibe in a historical cafe.
Unfortunately service wasn't as good as the Zabajone. Upon having one of the servers approaching us (nicely and politely with a great to-do attitude), the Maitre rushed to the table, told off the server not to take orders and to get back where he was since he's there to 'bring order not to take them'. As a table we even 'apologise' as we didn't know who to ask and we received not even a comment from the Maitre. The overall feel of the experience was ruined by this and I am appalled at how one of the most basic rules of Guest experience (do not argue in front of customers) was vandalised. Also, to avoid twisting this review, please note that the Maitre was the problem here, the server was way more polite and with the right attitude. Give him a raise instead of...
