We ended up at this place on the recommendation of the owner of the house where we slept. Our visit was a month ago and all that was left was disgust and a huge culinary disappointment. We have been to many places that served food much cheaper and tastier. Let's start with the waiting time, far too long considering that there was only one other table besides us. Each of us ordered different dishes. Generally, after receiving the plates, we wondered if this was a joke. The dishes were cold, served without any accompaniments, the meat of questionable quality, it was stringy and rubbery. Basic seasonings were missing: salt and pepper. Inusuale ristorante celato tra il districarsi degli stretti vicoli di Montepulciano. Pensato per accogliere la clientela dall’aperitivo al dopocena, era deserto in una caldo sabato sera di giugno, probabilmente sopraffatto dalle numerose enoteche e locali tipici che affollano il paese. Una proposta anomala e senz’altro rischiosa quella di accompagnare ad alcuni classici della tradizione toscana la cucina argentina. La scelta è varia ma non eccessivamente ampia, specialità come le empanadas o la tagliata con la salsa chimichurri sono ben eseguite e gradevoli al palato. Niente di tuttavia eccezionalmente memorabile e abbastanza a portata turistica alcuni piatti come la Bufalina tricolore – buona ma di comune reperimento. Il locale in sé è molto ampio e ricco di coperti, sicuramente è stato ristrutturato pur con la buona intenzione di mantenere lo spettacolare soffitto a volta. Il proprietario è tuttavia gentilissimo, ti accoglie come fosse casa propria e gestisce perfettamente i commensali. Il punto forte, a mio parere, sono i cocktail e il barman che li prepara. Ottime le varianti alla carta dei più popolari, da assaggiare a prezzi davvero modici. Anche il dolce Don Pedro, per chi vuole sfidare il proprio fegato, è totalmente immerso in una generosa quantità di whisky.
