I’ve been coming to your restaurant every year just for the great service and food and view. Unfortunately today my experience has been horrible. All of your staff are can’t speak English or Italian or any European language (I hope that’s not considered racist if I expect them to speak Italian in Italy, or maybe English also since it’s a tourist town and tourist restaurant). But even worse we asked for a fish with no sauce because of a lactose intolerance and yet it had butter and cream all over it. The staff pretended to understand when ordering and wrote it on their notebook. But it still had all the cream and butter sauce. And then I ordered the zuppa etruschi and it had a long black hair in it. We called your staff and they took away the soup. I assumed they were getting me a new one. They never came back at all. And then the owner went on to tell my friend that she was a bad person for complaining about the butter and cream in the fish and then you took it further to tell me that the hair wasn’t from your staff and that it was from me! One piece of advice - book a restaurant in advance in Montepulciano! We failed to do this and after several attempts at getting a table at other restaurants settled on here. The only place that didn’t have bookings - understandable. If I wanted Italian food like this I would’ve stayed in the UK. It’s by far the worst food we’ve eaten on our trip around Tuscany. The food was bland and lacked depth. The decor is questionable at best and as for the large man who I assume is the owner - he wanders around the restaurant distracting customers with his over theatrical singing whilst groping them. He clearly desires all attention to be on him at all times and has a narcissistic personality disorder. When we left to pay, he insisted we pay cash which we didn’t have as they accept cards. Beautiful place and nice outdoor dining area in the evening. Unfortunately our experience was otherwise disappointing mostly due to very poor service. After waiting 10-15 minutes we had to ourself go to ask for the menu. We ordered food and one of the main dishes was wrong (the ordered dish was pointed on the menu when ordered so cannot be a communication problem). Also the ordered wine was not delivered until asked for the second time and only after receiving foods. Waitress did not show up at any point so we had to leave the table to find one inside to report the issues. Also bread was not delivered until separately asked long after receiving the meals (other customers got it from the beginning). Also no real apologies from the staff due to all the mistakes and ignorance. They charged full price even though clear feedback was given.
