Extremely upset with this place. We were dining in a nearby restaurant and found this highly rated gelato nearby and decided to drive to the shop. First of all, the ice team is extremely disappointing. Read some other reviews on how the pistachio and coffee flavours were a miss and indeed they are. We went to a few gelato places in Florence that are way authentic in flavour than this place. Doesn’t taste like they fully use real ingredients as you can taste the artificial sweetness in all flavours we got: pistachio, coffee, hazelnut and apple kiwi. Granted, the portion isn’t as small as others reviewed but given the bad quality, I threw it away after a few scoops.

Lastly, in our efforts to get to the shop within the old town, we unfortunately trespassed into a ZTL tone (parking zone that’s only allowed if plates are registered) and when got to the shop and asked the staff is there’s anyway we can seek help as shops can register plates, the staff very rudely decline with two consecutive “NO”. Admittedly it’s our fault that we didn’t attend to the local signs as foreigners, and we weren’t necessarily hoping for the best outcome from the store either. But as a store staff/owner, it’s basic manner to show some sorts of kindness and respect to the consumer instead of treating us with a cold and hard “no” and not wanting to have any further conversation.

All in all, if you are stopping by I wouldn’t recommend this place. If you are even thinking about making an effort to go, don’t as the quality and the traffic are not worth it.

To further respond to the owner:

  1. the mere fact you said what the customer wrote was * and use that word to that extent shows the lack of basic manner as throughout my review, I didn’t lash out on anyone or your store personally, and I in fact admit that it’s our fault that we didn’t attend to the ZTL and wasn’t necessarily betting on the stores help as it was out of anyone’s control
  2. throughout our trip in Italy and really in many small towns, we came across folks who don’t speak English at all and were more than normal to at least showing willingness to help, not to mention this is to a customer. And from our observation of the staff interacting with other local customer, it wasn’t very friendly either.
  3. lastly, to your point on pricing, yes we all agree it’s not overly priced as stated in my original comment and I also mentioned the sizes actually not small, but the taste was very artificially sweet but just not worth the time and...

We spent 2 weeks in Tuscany trying gelato in many different towns, and this is our favorite gelato, alongside a well renowned gelateria in San Gimignano. The gelato itself was so smooth and creamy and the flavours were spot on. We especially liked: Mandarin. This was SOOO good! It was actually creamy, not a sorbet. The flavour was sweet, but not too sweet and had little bits of caramelized mandarin in it. Even my husband who normally doesn't like fruity flavours absolutely loved this one! Mint and milk. Made with real mint leaves, no artificial colours or flavours. The milk aspect was a genius touch, to balance out the naturally strong mint flavour. We went twice and the man working there was friendly and helpful, and allowed us to taste flavours before buying. Highly...

Went to this place on a sunny and warm day with high expectations to have my first lemon gelato of my trip and was beyond disappointed with the quantity of ice cream I was given. The picture says it all. Feels like the owner is making profit on pretending he serves gelato to people. They put it only on the corners, which makes the inside of the cup empty. Enough to make any kid cry. Also, the taste is pretty average.

I've eating a lot of gelato in Italy the last times I've been here. And this is absolutely the best gelato! Both the taste and the consistence were amazing! I think we tried 9 different flavours and all of them were sooo good! I highly recommend this place if you want to eat a really good gelato as it should taste!
