Incredible setting with stunning views from the outside terrace, the menu looked great and we went for the T-bone to share between us and sadly it was inedible, the meat was very tough to a point where we couldn't get our knives through it, there was an excessive amount of fat and sadly the taste wasn't even wow for the price paid - over 50% was sent back as it was inedible and this was pointed out to staff mid way though the meal. My parents had the fish which was nice and a steak which was ok. We were really disappointed on the whole and to be given a 10% discount on the meat only wasn't satisfactory which we did say but they weren't prepared move. It was an expensive meal and very, very disappointing, we had far superior food elsewhere throughout the week that wasn't anywhere near as highly priced as the steak we had here, we all walked away disappointed and said it wouldn't be somewhere we would return to - at these prices we were expecting far more, a real let down for what should have been a...
Read moreAmazing view, that basically describes it. Absolutely amazing scenery, we had a bit of bad luck with strong wind and a bit of coldness.
The food was fine, but definitely, definitely could have gotten a bit more of a touch of salt, but it seems standard in tuscany seemingly to undersalt a bit. In general one was paying more for the view than the taste. The menzetta ribeye is ... Ok. The cube ribeye thats cheaper weirdly tasted like a higher quality cut so I would not recommend the former. Visual presentation was superb however.
We were there in the middle of may and it was basically empty, inside and outside there were maybe 4 to 5 other guests. Our waiter was attentive but one thing that was said bothered me:
Changing our table to one inside because of the cold, when almost no one was there besides us and we dined for nearly 3h would have cost us a "double table usage upcharge". We declined and nicely got blankets at least.
All in all, disappointing but the cold might have...
Read moreNice place with a great view over the Gladiator Valley, although not very unique since many spots around town have similar views. We booked through The Fork app and had lunch here.
Tried the local fresh pasta with cheese and truffles — really tasty, but the portion was quite small. The dessert menu looked good, but about half of the options weren’t available. There was also a mix-up with the coffee; it arrived before the tiramisu even though I asked for it after.
Bread wasn’t great, and there was no olive oil or salt on the table (a bit disappointing in Tuscany — those should be a given).
Overall, food was good but the experience could be improved. I’d give it 3/5. I probably wouldn’t come back, as there are plenty of better...
