Bar Giorgio — Restaurant in Venice

We should have noticed all the signs that were telling us this was not a place to eat. First, when we got there no one was eating, but the people (very few) who were there were just drinking and smoking (incessantly). Second, we ordered a pizza that didn’t come out for at least 15 minutes - while again, no one else was eating anything. I’m Neapolitan. If a pizza takes more than 3-4 minutes to hit the table when the kitchen is otherwise doing nothing, then something is definitely wrong. Third, when it came out it sure didn’t look like a real pizza (that picture is of the bottom of the pie). Didn’t taste like one either. Tasted like the worst sort of excuse for a pizza that you’d find in America. And while we were eating this thing, the whole time we were there, no one else ordered any food. Take this as a telling indicator.

This place was beyond disappointing. For the first time in my life, I heard my overly generous husband say "I would not leave a tip at this place and if I were in the US, it would've been a 10%". From our group of 6, two people ordered soups and were asked whether they'd like the soups to be served first. After 40 minute wait, we all got our dishes and they got the soups. We finished our main dishes and then waited another 15 minutes for them to pick up empty soup plates and serve our friends' main dishes. 4 of us were just sitting watching them eat. Also the fish was terrible, at 19 Euros a plate there was barely any fish and it wasn't fresh either - it tasted stale. Escalopes were quite bland and way overpriced, did not even come with a side. Pasta...

We was looking at our arrival of Venice for a place near by to our Hotel, and C&B was that perfect place, good meal, fast service, good wines and prices.

They give us the possibility to enjoy a wonderfull night, with diferent menus and good experience. We recomended if you stay at Venice for the quality of the pastas and quick service.

We are glad to the service of Faruk and Kevin Chen a good team, and a place to enjoy with friend and family. If you are here near by San Giovanni Paolo Square you can visit to eat at Calle Larga Giacinto Gallina at 6140 A.
