Gelateria Ducale — Restaurant in Venice

This gelateria is a true gem in the midst of Venezia. All the gelaterie we tried during our vacation there pale in comparison to this one. Unfortunately we have only tried the ice cream there, but not the cakes. But I am sure they are just as tasty as they look.

The ice cream tasted great. The sorbets fresh as they should be. The texture was smooth and creamy. Not too sweet, but with a deep flavor.

Definitely the best gelato I've had in Italy. A hidden gem. After trying more than 10 different gelato shops, I can say with confidence that the flavours here are the best - just the right amount of sweetness, and the taste of the ingredients come out beautifully. Also cheaper than all the other shops. It would be a mistake to not come here. Have visited Italy 5 times, had gelato from dozens of gelaterias. Helped Vivoli gelato open their NYC location and had good fortune of working with Silvana Vivoli herself. That said, Ducale gelato may be the best gelato I have ever had. Incredible taste and texture, perfect balance of sweetness that lets the high quality ingredients shine for themselves.
