Ristorante Hostaria al Cavallo pizza e cicchetti — Restaurant in Venice

We had wonderful time at this restaurant, the stuff was very nice and friendly, good atmosphere in the restaurant and very tasty food. We had some fish appetiser, don't remember the exact name, I think something like "Antipasti Veneziano" (it was also written that it's a chef's choice), which I definitely recommend to try at least once, because it was just delicious! Unfortunately I forgot to take picture of the whole meal, but I took a picture after we split it to 2 plates and already ate some of it (sorry, guys) Pizza was also very good, high quality cheese, and the thin dough gets crispy when it cools down (I'm fascinated by it, since I haven't eaten pizzas like that outside of Italy) And overall it was cheaper than in most restaurants in Venice, so for nice price you get really high quality food 👌 Definitely recommend this restaurant! Next time I'm in Venice, I will for sure...

I want to go with 3.5 for this restaurant. The service is OK, the location is nice, the food average I’d say. I had to change table due to a pair of chain smokers next to me making me feel like I was sat in a bonfire, rather than at dinner, but the wait staff handled that impeccably. Downsides would be that the food is average. I had bruschetta to start and it was very over seasoned - I suspect the chef smokes also hence adding so much salt. The next course was tagliolini with pecorino and pepper which was actually quite nice. I ordered a second glass of Pinot Grigio but this seemed to only turn up when I asked for the bill. Probably wouldn’t go back - lots of far better...

I like to reserve 5 stars for genuinely good experiences. I do believe this was one! We ordered the Pasta al "Cavallo", which was a Venetian seafood pasta, and the Octopus Pasta. The food was scrumptious, and the location was exceptional! Even though it's near points of interests, it felt quiet and peaceful. From the photo, you can understand the vibe was pretty nice! To make it all even better, after being served, the waiter asked if everything was ok, it was, yet he responded "if anything is not ok I can change it". And I just dont think I ever heard that before? Well...
