Da Giulio — Restaurant in Venice

Amazing restaurant which is close to station, honestly the best restaurant in Venice, and it is cheap as well with set meals which are 3 course for just €14. I would highly recommend the pasta with seafood, it was amazing, the fish tasted great and the sauce was divine, another dish I would recommend is the ravioli, they were also great with a nice sauce but in my opinion, not as good as the seafood pasta due to the fact it was missing the clams, squid, muscles and the divine king prawns that the seafood pasta had. Seriously consider going to this restaurant as it might be cheaper to go to ones near the hotel Adua and the train station, however an extra 10 mins and €2 extra per person and you will be glad that you took the time and money to try Osteria Garanghelo. Just a quick note to say if using Google maps, make sure you have the restaurant, as it has a tendency to suggest a place much further away that is not a restaurant. WARNING: this place is a TOURIST SCAM!

We paid a ridiculous price (that actually did not correspond to what they wrote on the board in front of the restaurant) for 2 Spritz “drinks” of a very doubtful quality. Before taking a table there we asked if they did aperitivo. They said yes, but obviously later on it turned out to be a huge joke of bad taste. We got a small handful of chips, and that was all.

To make things worse, the service left a great deal to be desired. Definitely one of THE WORST experiences I’ve ever had in Italy.

Sum up: Don’t underestimate other people’s feedback, especially if there is a series of similar complaints already published in the app. If we had checked it out before ordering, we would have had a nice aperitivo for 6-8€ in a bar located few meters further.

we had a good experience here! i ordered the seafood pasta which was just amazing and also a big portion, my friend ordered aglio e olio which was good and my boyfriend also had a good experience with his lasagna! i ordered grilled octopus for the 2nd dish, it wasn’t special, slightly slimy on the outside but it wasn’t bad or fishy or anything, but i still consider it to be delicious. my friend had salmon which was standard, nothing to complain about, and my boyfriend had chicken breast which was disappointing. i don’t think this restaurant is bad at all, considering the prices, service and food. i do think the quality of each dishes are very different, for example if you compare my seafood pasta to the grilled chicken breast, it was as if it came from a completely different restaurant. but all in all, i...
