La Nuova Perla – A Venetian Gem with Unforgettable Hospitality

Tucked away in the enchanting labyrinth of Venice, La Nuova Perla is more than just a restaurant—it’s a culinary love letter to authentic Venetian flavors, served with warmth and passion. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of elegance and charm, but what truly made our evening extraordinary was Albano, whose impeccable service elevated the experience to something truly magical.

Albano is the heart and soul of La Nuova Perla. With a genuine smile and an encyclopedic knowledge of the menu, he guided us through an unforgettable gastronomic journey. His recommendations were spot-on—each dish a masterpiece, from the delicate crudi di pesce (fresh seafood tartare) to the rich, buttery tagliolini al nero di seppia (squid ink pasta). His passion for Venetian cuisine was infectious, and his attentiveness made us feel like honored guests rather than mere diners.

The branzino al cartoccio (sea bass baked in parchment) was a revelation—flaky, fragrant, and perfectly seasoned—while the tiramisu, recommended by Albano, was the ideal finale: creamy, light, and deeply satisfying. The wine pairings he suggested complemented each course flawlessly, showcasing his expertise and dedication to the art of hospitality.

Beyond the food, it was Albano’s personal touch that made the evening so special. He took the time to share stories of Venice, the restaurant’s history, and even offered insider tips for exploring the city. His kindness and professionalism turned a great meal into a cherished memory.

If you’re in Venice, La Nuova Perla is a must-visit—not just for its exquisite cuisine, but for the unparalleled hospitality of Albano. He embodies the spirit of Venetian warmth, making every guest feel like family.

Grazie mille, Albano—we’ll be back soon!

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) – Perfection on a plate, served with heart.

Best Dinner in Venice – A Night to Remember

We had our best dinner in Venice here — everything was just as we like it.

The food was truly delicious. Excellent starters, fresh seafood, and a mouthwatering dessert. Olive oil was already on the table, and we had no problem getting fresh pepper and salt when asked. If we had one suggestion, it would be for slightly fresher bread — but that’s a small detail in an otherwise perfect meal.

Drinks were equally enjoyable: cold beer, a lovely bottle of house white wine, and a complimentary limoncello digestif to finish. A really nice touch.

The staff were fantastic — fast, attentive, and incredibly hardworking. Every request was handled immediately and with a smile. There is a 12% service charge added to the bill, which noticeably affects the total, but the level of service more than justifies it. A special shout-out to the lovely Bora and the older waiter who made us laugh so much — we wish we had asked for his name!

The restaurant is located right next to a bridge, and we had a reservation for an outdoor table by the water. We arrived a little early, and the friendly host offered us a glass of Prosecco while we waited — very professional and welcoming. In the end, we chose to sit inside where the air conditioning, soft Italian music, and a beautiful view created a relaxed, elegant atmosphere.

Yes, it was an expensive meal, but considering we had an aperitif, two starters, two mains, salad, dessert, beer, a bottle of wine, water, and a digestif — we felt it was worth every cent.

It will be a beautiful memory...

I recently dined at La Nuova Perla, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. While the ambiance was inviting and the menu appeared promising, the service fell far short of expectations.

Order Mix-Up: A Culinary Confusion

The main issue, however, was with our order. We ordered two of the available risotto dishes, and we were eager to try them, but when the food finally arrived, apparently it was a mix-up. One of the dishes we received did not match what we had ordered, and when we pointed this out, the staff seemed confused and unprepared to rectify the situation efficiently.

To make matters worse, the more expensive dish that we had not received was mistakenly included on our bill. This oversight not only added to our frustration but also highlighted a lack of attention to detail. We had to spend additional time getting the bill corrected, which should have been a straightforward process but was instead another example of the a bit lackluster service that we experienced.

Conclusion: Room for Improvement

In conclusion, La Nuova Perla definitely is a nice dining spot, but our visit was marred by inattentive service and a significant order mix-up. Mistakes happen, mix-ups happen. I hope the management addresses these issues, as they have the opportunity to turn this restaurant into a place worth revisiting. The food was top-notch , really delicious and fresh. For now, I would recommend diners ensure their orders are...
