Last week, June 12, 2024 I visited Il Mercante. I didn't have the name or address of the shop I had visited eleven years ago. I only had the memory of the shop and the dynamic owner. To my pleasure I found the shop which was open and the artist/owner was there. Not only was I thrilled to purchase a beautiful hand made journal but to spend half an hour in conversation. So excited I went into this shop. Not only does the owner have a photo of my favourite painting (Arnolfini Portrait) but he also makes the beautiful gothic mirrors similar to the one in the painting. He gave such wonderful historical facts about the painting, and showed me some beautiful vintage earring. And he had my favourite slippers in my favourite colour!!!! Truly a lovely shop with such rich history and handmade...

Amazing place, one of the greatest artist I've ever seen. Very friendly man, with huuuuuge knownledge, and made by himself goods! No chinese parts included, he tell and show us how he's doing his products. He've also told us a looot of great informations how to visit Venice. This place is out of main tourist routes, that's why he is not popular. But his products are fully made by good part. Great shop, with great artist...
