Ā Ā Ā Read moreDONāT eat here if youāre ordering after 2130 Choose another delicious place on Garibaldi! This was going to be a 2 star
A one star experience based on the poor interaction with the waiters.
Essentially we were too late, we werenāt too pushed to eat there, but - they flirted and we went with it.
We hadnāt sat down and one of the two waiters shouts āNO PIZZAā, I looked around to a terrace of tables with pizzas being sliced by patrons.
Having given no indication to what we even wanted to eat, at this trattoria-pizzeria, a pizza (magically) appeared from the kitchen being carried carefully to a table - and we looked back - and weāre told āyou are the lastā.
Opportunistically, we said, well we better get one! So chose a cheaply priced cheese pizza to share amongst the table.
Following this we received an odd and unnecessary, and inhospitable level of aggression. Which included being served stale bread. Ha!
The food we ate was tasty, and had this weird interaction never happened i would not have said anything here but the people whose job it is to take an order and transfer it to the hard working chef, are so arrogant and poor at communicating, here I am! What a shame to spend a dinner in Venice like that.
Having arrived at 2145, being coaxed in, and being told to leave at 2240, in such a ridiculous way, I advise against eating here. There are soooo many great places...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst, the positives: we had pizza, and it was quite good. It seemed freshly made with quality dough baked in a good oven, and we enjoyed it. However, the service left much to be desired. The staff were overly eager to attract people from the street, even going so far as to bring our food outside to showcase the fresh pizza. This aggressive approach made us skeptical.
The waiter was friendly, but that was the extent of the positive service experience. We wanted to share a single pizza since we weren't very hungry, but the waiter insisted we also take a salad to share. We should have clarified the price, but in the end, we felt a bit tricked. The salad was nothing specialājust mozzarella on top of arugula and tomatoesābut it cost as much as the pizza. This tactic made us feel like they were trying to make as much money off us as if we'd ordered two pizzas.
Another issue was the offered child seat, which we appreciated, but it arrived covered in tomato sauce from previous guests, and the seat cushions were ripped. They cleaned it, but only after we requested it.
In summary, while the pizza was good, the service and additional issues made the experience less enjoyable. I would recommend exploring other dining options...
