Fantastic cicchetti on a main street in a relatively quieter part of Venice. As the name suggests, the cicchetti here has more of a focus on cured meats and cheeses rather than the more typical seafood focused bites found elsewhere. The cicchetti were artfully prepared and visually appetizing even before the first bite. Highly recommend to get some great local foods away from the main drag, or as a welcome break between the two Biennale venues. Best of all, small bites and a glass or two of wine at midday comes out to very affordable prices (€20 for 6x cicchetti and 2x glass of white wine).

Fantastic place at the Via Garibaldi which is usually packed (and for good reason!) but we managed to get a table. The atmosphere is soft and dreamy, the cold cuts refined and complex, and the service warm and efficient. A few words in my broken Italian prompted a big smile and some conversation, followed by good food and even more amazing wine. I can definitely recommend this place to people who are looking for a local dining experience, just make a reservation if you can as you might not get a table!

If you made it this far, you’re in good shape. 😋 Grab a well deserved refreshment and bite after surviving the Venetian Hunger Games in Piazza San Marco Polo and Ponte Vecchio. Salumeria is a welcome treat - classy serving traditional and innovative small plates. I tried a polenta dipped in black squid ink topped with salted cod and an aperol s. Magnifique! The service is attentive without being creepy. Overall an excellent find in Venice.

We went there because of Lonely Planet recommendation. Hey Lonely Planet, check again! Place is rather below expectations. The menu is super small and the dishes come different to what is described in the menu. My Sicilian salad that was supposed to be with blood orange and focaccia came with 5 pieces of mandarine and bread. And my boyfriend’s parmigiana - normally a vegetarian dish - came with ham. If you make changes to the menu - fine! - but let the customer know before he orders… when we wanted to complain about the food, had to wait quite a long time until waiter came to check on us. Overall - overrated, I would recommend Lonelyplanet guys to review their recommendation. And the owner to still provide good service and communication, not to just ride on that recommendation flow… To be fair, we were offered a complimentary glass of wine when I pointed out differences between menu descriptions and what was served - Still it wasn’t the greatest experience but good that they acknowledged, so there’s hope for...

I was disappointed. We arrived around 1:30-2. There were no tables available outside. The owner (?) didn't seem too helpful and we waited quite a while, then took a table inside. We finally ended up at a table outside, but it took forever before we got menus. My husband had to get up and get napkins and flatware, as no one was bringing them. Ordering off the menu, I thought prices were too high for what we got. Something with marinated sardines - way too fishy and the greens were not as fresh. Many of the options that were available at the counter had run out by the time it was our turn to order and, although the place stayed open between lunch and dinner, it was not making more and apparently would not even make more to order, but the few that were left we fine (though not really what I would have ordered had there been more choice) and not that expensive. I am totally cool with the European neutral style of service, but this was just inattentive and indifferent. Not a good experience and I...
