Lio — Restaurant in Venice

A fantastic experience, we came from across the road at the hotel for a chilled dinner and that's exactly what we got.

We loved the orecchiette and the cous cous dishes, the fish and chips (not anything like the UK's) were also fantastic. The Venetian Appetizer was great too, a great introduction to the local cuisine. It was priced well, too.

We also asked them to choose a wine for us, they chose Valladolid Vadum Caesaris, which was complex, not too sweet or dry and paired very well with our food.

This is OK if you are happy paying high prices for small servings and measures. I ordered what was described as fish pie which I assumed was a main course for 18 euros. What arrived was a starter size portion of mixed fish with soft pasta. My glass of wine was perhaps the smallest measure I've been served anywhere. Stunning find in Lido and just as good as the reviews suggested.
