It was OK overall.
Initially, service was pretty solid - didn't take too long to bring food out or take our order. By the end of the meal, it took probably 30-40 minutes and us asking multiple waiters for us to pay. I'm very glad we didn't have dessert/coffee or we may have been there another 2 hours. The waiters were often in groups of 2 or 3 having extended conversations with single tables that had just arrived - nice for those tables I'm sure, but a little odd from a service standpoint.
The food was decent. For Venice, I'd probably put it in the 'underwhelming' category - it's nice, but there are so many excellent restaurants in Venice that I can't recommend it for its food particularly.
The atmosphere also wasn't great - the table next to us became very noisy throughout the evening. I could see it clearly made the waiters uncomfortable as well but they probably should have said something to the table rather than just sitting by.
As a final comment - if you use TheFork app, you get 50% off mains and sides (everything but drinks/coperta) which seems (and is) a little too good to be true.
If you don't use TheFork, you get the prices as they are on the menu and that's it - if you use TheFork, you'll get coperta (fixed charge per person for the table) plus a mandatory service charge of 12.5% added to your bill.
I didn't have a particular issue with this - our bill still went from €70 to €50 for two of us through the app which was a substantial discount (and turned the experience into pretty good value), but don't...
Read moreI came across this restaurant while I was walking around like any other tourist. I was greeted by one of the friendly staff Dave and we were invited to try their happy hour. At that time, my sister and I just ate so we went back the next day and had lunch there. Something about how they were chatting with people that stood out right away, not pushy just genuinely friendly. The restaurant location is adorable; it’s in a small quaint corner in one of the charming streets of Venice. The staff is welcoming and has a sense of togetherness amongst them.
I ordered the featured fish and was asked if I wanted it grilled or baked; I chose grilled. It was delicious, fresh, light & citrusy and every bite just melts in your mouth. I paired it with one of their Limoncello drinks and it was quite refreshing. They also started us with fresh warm bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We shared the pesto penne and it’s simple yet flavourful. Paired really well with red wine. We finished our meal with tiramisu; the first bite was so divine that i completely forgot to take a photo that I just devoured it. We even received a complimentary sweet shot; I’m sorry forgot what it was called.
Our overall experience was just so wonderful, I wished we had more time to go back. Cheers to the team who worked so well together, and very thankful to Dave who took care of us, felt like we’ve known him forever. Keep up the great work! Recommending this place to all our friends travelling to Venice and hopefully will be able to go...
Read moreMy fiancé and I had dinner here last night. We were celebrating our newly announced engagement and were looking for a great dining experience to finish the day off. We couldnt have been happier. The owner I think who's name is Andre's, is so nice and accommodating. What impressed me more was he spoke 5 different languages as we sat there amongst other patrons and told us he spoke a total of 7. Incredible! Highly impressed. I ordered the clam spaghetti special with the fried mixed sea food and mixed salad. So good!! I never had so much flavor in a pasta like that before. We also ordered an anitpasta of raw ham over melon as suggested by a tour guide and wow! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. My fiancé ordered a garlic sauce spaghetti and it was even better than mine! So spicy but so delicious. We love spicy foods. The bread they brought out too was fresh and amazing. Again hadn't had a bread that good yet on our Italian ventures. Been to Rome, Florence, Siena and now Venice. My favorite by far. Everything was reasonably priced. Our 2 meals with antipasta and bottle of wine and water only came out to 65 euros. Wow! We plan on coming back to Venice and I hope this restaurant and Andre's are still there....
