I never leave reviews, but considering the experience my 2 friends and I had, I feel I must if it saves even 1 person from going through the same evening. 2 of us ordered Fillet steak. Mine was okay, nice mushroom sauce but the meat was grey in colour and 'flobbly' and had not been seared off at all. Not inviting to eat, and the fries had clearly been cooked in oil that had been re - used for a very long time. No seasoning used on any of our meals either. The 'chef' is clueless. My friend asked for a medium rare steak that arrived so over cooked. It was chewy with zero pinkness, so she had to ask for a new one (in clear Italian as she is Italian), it was inedible. They then returned with the same steak that they had cooked EVEN MORE! I appreciate that mistakes happen and something was lost in communication but it's how a situation is handled that counts. The waiter had a very bad attitude when questioned, and my friend was so worried they would do something bad to her food in the kitchen if she sent it back a 2nd time that she just ate it. When the bill came, we politely expressed that we would have liked to think the steak was removed after they so clearly messed it up to which the waiter got very aggressive, refusing, pointing his finger and in the end she felt so bullied that she just paid it (although I tried not to but she's very sweet and didnt want the confrontation). As we left, he was still shouting at her. Please avoid this place, tourist trap, bad service, awful food, over priced, and the issues were handled appallingly. Nice location. Appetisers came out fast however this is the only restaurant I have been to in Italy that didn't bring bread to our table?. Our mains also arrived in a timely manner and we were eating when suddenly one of the staff walked nearby coughed up a big bit of flem and spat on the floor. I turned in my chair and told him he was disgusting and he should be ashamed of himself. He did apologise but I was shocked by this act while trying to eat a meal. I'm pretty sure this is not acceptable in Italy! The guy looked to be of Indian decent (which a large number of wait staff seem to be in Italy) which may have had some bearing on the matter? I don't know, do Indian people think it's ok to spit on the floor next to a dining guest?. In the end the food was pretty average. We ordered the same thing from the restaurant next door on the previous night and it was much better. I would probably avoid this place if your trying to choose. NB to the restaurant, educate your staff on basic hygiene and perhaps you won't get posts like this which will almost certainly ward off...
Read moreI usually abstain from leaving bad reviews for businesses especially those in the service industry, but I can’t abide by blatant racism.
The attitude of the gentleman waiter captured in the photo was despicable towards the mother and daughter that came in towards the evening. I had experienced similar abysmal service but attributed this to it being later at night. After waiting for several minutes, the mother and daughter had asked for someone to take their order a few times but were ignored. Finally, they both got up at which point this gentleman had an outburst exclaiming that they needed to pay, yet I saw with my own two eyes they had not even had a sip of water.
When the mother asked the gentleman for his name he screamed “Why should I?”, which took us all by surprise. The mother followed up with the a remark “I will write a review”, to which the waiter doubled down and screamed “You do that!”.
I’m not sure if he was having a bad night but this experience was horrible, not only for the mother daughter duo that left right after but also for us remaining patrons.
Please train your staff better in...
