Service is worse than you’d expect for Italy, I live in Italy and waiting is not an issue, and we waited for a solid 15 minutes (that’s being generous). We patiently waited, the server was nice but there was no communication between the servers and the cooks. They brought out some of the food and just then said some of the food was sold out, and she had no shame about the mistake . So we were asked to choose another item when others just received their food. Also the server as nice as she was, gave us the wrong information about sides., I know the difference between vegetables and potatoes (in Italian and English). When I ordered the replacement for my the order that was sold out, I specifically asked if the burger could be cooked as I preferred, she kindly said of course, well they didn’t cook it correctly. This place is the worst, they made my evening just horrible, shame on all of you for not simply trying…....
Read moreExcellent restaurant! The staff was very helpful and patient to answer questions about the menu. I eat BBQ in Texas frequently and the ribs here were pretty darn good! The sides were a little different, but hey, I'm in Italy! Pulled pork sandwich very good as well. Sauces are homemade. Didn't visit the bar area, but it appears there is an ample beer selection. Background music was low enough to talk, but loud enough to enjoy. Late 90's rock...Corn, Blonde, Queen, The Offspring, etc. Very clean and modern restrooms. A little off the tourist routes....mostly locals the weekday evening we visited. Prices moderate for Venice....a good value.
Updated 2024....food is still good. Oddly we were charged a 5 Euro per person "cover charge " at lunch. I'm used to paying the charge when there is entertainment. This runs the bill up 25% at lunch! Nevertheless, still an...
Read moreWe stopped in only for an aperativo prior to our dinner reservation, and it makes me sad we were not able to come back to experience a full meal after the lovely service we had this day. After a few beers, I inquired about grappa and the kind bar tender (also owner? We weren't sure) was gracious enough to take the time to show us a wide array of the kinds of grappa available, their taste and a bit of the history. Basically a lovely conversation turned grappa tour. I'm not saying that this will happen every time you go to this bar and ask about grappa, but I will say, after learning that Italy is a difficult country to visit entirely on your honeymoon but very much worth visiting, this experience solidified for me the idea that you visit Italy for the food, but you will come back for the culture...
