We know this place from 2018, we eat here several times and we really liked it, but forgot to leave a review then. 4 years later we wanted to visited again, but we were really disappointed with the lastest reviews in Google Maps. We give it a new try today and the experience was the same as 2018: great food, great service, fair and normal prices (you are in Venice, for God sake), jokes from the waiter, clean restrooms, wifi, etc. Five stars without thinking, and if you see my reviews, you will notice that I don’t give 5 stars easily. You people complaint about the coperto; it is normal to charge between 1 and 2.5€ in Venice. If you don’t like how Italy manage its HORECA’s laws and industry, there are always Mc Donalds and Burger King available. You complain about the price of the Coke; in this app (Google Maps) you will find photos of the Coke’s price in this restaurant from 2018 (4€) and will notice that in 4 years (global pandemic + war + inflation) it has only increased 1€, so… please just stop crying, go to Mc Donalds. This is a family restaurant (literally owned and managed by a family) where the food is delicious and the prices are fair enough. Totally recommended. We will come again and/or try their other restaurants :)

Restaurant Review I recently visited this restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. While the food was acceptable, there was nothing remarkable about it—just average at best. The real issue arose when the server recommended a sea bass for two people. We agreed to it without asking the price, assuming it would be in line with the other menu items. However, when the bill arrived, we were shocked to find that the sea bass cost €91. Upon checking the menu, the most expensive item listed was €32. Charging such an excessive amount for a dish not even listed on the menu felt unreasonable and unfair. While I understand that we didn’t ask for the price, we never imagined it would be so outrageously high. This left a bad impression on us, and we won’t be returning. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we cannot recommend this restaurant to others. Transparency with pricing is essential, and this was a major disappointment.

Insane how such place has the courage to call itself a pizzaria. We ordered the most simple pizza possible, three MARGHERITAS. Even so, they managed to put out the most terrible pizza I have ever had in my entire life. Even worse than those frozen pizzas you buy in Walmart for about a dollar, even worse than the pizzas they sell in bus stops in Brasil, where I live. As you can see in the video, the pizza is PURE OIL, the cheese that they used is those like those radioactive "mozzarelas" (those cheeses that are everything but cheese) you get in a US supermarket. And no suprise, the pizza tasted as bad as it looks. To make things even worse, all the knives we had were ABSOLUTELY DULL, to the point that it wouldnt even cut the pizza (altought some of that problem is probably fault of the cheese (lack of) quality). Besides this small problem (just the restaurant serving horrendous food) the service was good and the place was tidy and clean.

Ah, Al Vaporetti—a pizza and pasta joint that steers clear of touristy gimmicks and instead delivers the kind of comfort that only a well-made margherita can offer. This is where locals gather for a casual bite, and where the unmistakable aroma of fresh dough and bubbling cheese greets you at the door like an old friend.

The pizza? A true work of art. The crust, thin yet sturdy, strikes the perfect balance between crispy and chewy—a feat not to be underestimated. I went for the classic margherita, and it didn’t disappoint. The tomato sauce was fresh and tangy, with just enough sweetness to complement the mozzarella that melted like a dream across the top. The basil? A fragrant punctuation mark on what could easily be called Venice’s answer to comfort food.

On the pasta front, the carbonara was a triumph. Creamy without being heavy, each strand of spaghetti was lovingly coated in an eggy, cheesy sauce that clung perfectly, with pancetta adding the kind of salty richness that makes you forget about counting calories. It’s the kind of dish that convinces you “just one more bite” is always a good idea.

The house wine is pleasantly surprising—affordable and shockingly good for the price. A carafe of local red washed everything down beautifully, though it also made me a little more inclined to linger longer than necessary.

Al Vaporetti may not boast fine dining, but it excels at what it does best: pizza, pasta, and the kind of laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. A solid four stars for this no-frills, all-flavor slice of...
