I want to give a 5 star feedback this early afternoon after we had our lunch there, but things changed within couple of hours.
The place got a nice garden, and good dining rooms inside. Waiters was fast and nice. They’ve got around 60-70 spaces inside and around 110-120 outside in the garden area. They’ve take order quickly and running around us. All together was 3 tables occupied in the garden. Pizza was great and got it 5 min after order. My wife’s one supposed with a ham (after baked the description showed but looks like it was cooked only.) Otherwise was fine.
Then things changed 6 hrs later. We decided to go back for another quick drink as the place was full of positives at early afternoon. Walked inside the garden and the waitresses was busy so we just found a table for two. We sat down then waited couple of minutes until a waitress told us he will call another one who is responsible for this table. Then he got there, probably recognised us from earlier and asked if we got reservations. We said no, but he said it’s ok, and asked if we eating anything. We replied probably not at this time. Just a quick drink, a beer and a water. Then he said he can’t serve us as this is a restaurant. ??? And asked to leave. ????? I know you’re making money from the food, but two beers cost more than one pizza. I was shocked first as can’t understand why they can’t serve us when still got around 10-12 large tables free with around 60-70 spaces still left outside and we can’t have drink at the small 2 people table. Also asked if we can have a drink inside so we don’t block the tables, but he said no.
In other EU countries you don’t have to come to work next day if you send the customer away like this.
Sorry guys. Want to leave similar lengthy feedback with 5 star on all but you’ve to change something here. And I’m not the first one who complains about attitude and not serving customers. Hope you can change this policies then you’ll get more...
Read moreWe arrived at 7 pm, a party of two. The setting was pleasant, and we were the first to order. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill quickly.
The starter, pan-fried dough, was bland and unappealing. My lasagna arrived first, but my partner’s pizza took 15 minutes longer, with no updates from the staff. I was told it was “coming,” but it eventually never come. I started the lasagna but it was lukewarm and unappetizing. Where is the tomato sauce?
When I raised the issue with the staff, they confirmed again that the pizza was on its way. I would have gladly ordered something else, but they insisted I wait. After 25 more minutes, still no pizza.
When the manager finally came over, he was rude and dismissive, telling me he “didn’t like my tone” and revealing that he had stopped the pizza order entirely because I had refused the lasagna — without ever asking me for a replacement order. Also I like the lasagna we serve. Good for him.
Overall, the service was unprofessional, the food was subpar, and the manager’s attitude was unacceptable. This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had...
Read moreThe staff (Maria, I think) recommended Pizzeria Leon D'Oro as "the best pizza in Verona". For the 'come primo', I chose their Caprese salad and it was light, fresh, and artistically plated. According to their menu, they take a very scientific approach to making pizza dough ... it was very distinctive and delicious. I had their "Cecilia" pizza (will try to upload photos later) as the 'come secondo'. The toppings on the pizza were similarly fresh. The edges of the crust were perfectly in the middle of crispy and soft - suitable as crusty bread for dipping. They recommended a perfect vino rosso to complete the meal. For the 'come dolce', I had their creme brule with an espresso macchiato, which were exquisite. Service was attentive and I had the opportunity to discuss the meal with knowledgeable service staff. I highly recommend this restaurant for any pizza...
